What are the most underrated animes in your opinion?
For me it's Monster Rancher, Zoids and Zoids: Chaotic Century and Tenchi Muyo/Universe/in Tokyo.
Pixel Art can be fun.

None of those are underrated except maybe Monster Rancher.
Just for example, Tenchi is pretty much the harem anime. It's the bar by which a lot of people judge a harem anime in general.

I agree.... but i'd go so far as to say that no anime that has been broadcast on american airwaves can be considered underrated.

I have a hard time defining an underrated anime, since it's not like they are commonly reviewed. I suppose an excellent anime that goes largely unknown could qualify.
...
I have to go with Texhnolyze b/c its really has a great story and a beautiful ending.
serial experiments lain, is definitly the best anime i've seing yet few people know about it

Ghost in the Shell is hugely overrated in terms of internet presence. Serial Experiments Lain was aired on TV (TechTV's Anime Unleashed R.I.P.) so it has a pretty widespread following. A friend says it's her favorite anime of all time...
That's my definition of underrated too Torillian. And Baki the Grappler is a great example of an underrated one (have you heard of it?).
Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu is a good example of an underrated OVA but OVAs are a bit too easy to do. Gatekeepers might qualify but it was somewhat big at one point (not so much now though). The problem is that a lot of popular anime in Japan weren't very popular outside of it. Magic Knight Rayearth is a good example that got a full series and its own line of games.
You know i thought the Ghost in the shell movie seriously sucked... but thought the series was good.
Most people think the opposite.
The movie to me seemed to lose it's coherentness, like the merged multiple ideas together rather then staying with one consistant story... also there were things that bothered me that were never explained.
Like... why does the woman have to get naked to be invisible.... yet the guy doesn't?
