I think they should stick with the dual shock, but maybe better r2 and l2 triggers for shooters. I really hate using the l1 and r1 buttons they don't feel good enough to me.

This is perfect for me.
a bit bigger, bit heavier and if those buttons curve out, it would solve a lot of "slipping off the buttons".
Not having to buy batteries all the time and/or a recharge pack is one of the best things they could have done.
I'll buy the controller once, I don't want to have to keep buying power for the controller over and over.
DS4 will be fine in shape and features, just improvements on it's features. Hardly anything wrong with DS3 in my opinion.
Hmm, pie.

I've found rechargeable AA batteries to work great for that kind of thing.
@IllegalPaladin
True but you have to buy rechargable batteries. Which are more expensive then standard batteries. You also need a charger.
Hmm, pie.
rechargable batteries are headache, first you have to buy the charger and then the batteries and then charge them often
DS3 is perfect
Oh my god..... first you have to buy the charger...... and then the batteries.... and THEN you have to charge them? Oh woe is me :P
See, we have a digital camera and one of those small remote control helicopters (which goes through 6 AA batteries pretty quickly since it's fun to fly it) so getting rechargeable batteries was already something to look at for my family and I. They may be more expensive than regular batteries, but with the charger I have, 4 batteries are given juice in 15 minutes. Not only that, aren't the official rechargeable packs for the 360 like $25+ each? My batteries and charger cost somewhere around (or maybe a little less) the price of two rechargeable 360 packs, recharge in 15 minutes, and aren't limited to powering one type of thing.
So yes, it may be more expensive in the shortrun, but I've used the same six batteries for over a year now.
@IllegalPaladin
And I've used the same controllers with their own batteries all the time. It may not seem a big concern for some but it's an added expense to an already added expense filled industry, 360 is a joke on that. And one I don't want.
I have the added bonus that my recharge cable is long enough that I can just plug it in and continue playing.
Hmm, pie.
