Gameplay- Frantic, zombies are quiter agressive and the camera perspective is fast moving. A real challange to avoid being hit at times. Unlimited continues is a nice feature to make the game more accessable.  This is a very good light gun game. 9.0

With the unlimited continues, does it start you back at the start of the level or do you get to start off near where you died?  Thanks!

Basically when you die it pauses the action and a screen pops up asking if you want to continue, if you click yes you begin exactly where you left off. So it stays to the arcade tradition on that one. I would say most regualr gamers will rarely need the continue on normal mode, uncut is a bit more hefty.

Yeah, good review. The game is awesome, I really like it. It'll sit in my backlog until I beat de Blob (which will be soon). But I did put it in and checked out the first level. Good stuff.

Don't you wish that De Blob had save points? I would have BEEN completed it by now if it did. I haven't had the chance to just sit down and play it in a long time.

I do.  I takes me well over an hour to complete a level in de Blob because I try and do everything - save all the Graydians, paint every structure, complete all the challenges, etc.  It can take a bit of time to do all of that.

But yeah, played a bit more Overkill last night just to see some more of it.  I'm really impressed with the zombie models and lighting.

@ Bold: EXACTLY!!! I mean it does take bout an hour to do, lol.

about HOTD: I played it some more as well to see if I can see the visual negatives that were mentioned in this thread. Tbh, unless you're LOOKING for them it's not that noticeable. The only thing that I did notice was that some of the "mutants" (Agent G does like the "Z" word, lol) did repeat.

...Overall HOTD is fun to play, even if I have to play late at night cause of basically it being XXX rated and my rugrats are sponges, lol.

sidenote: Anyone else notice that it's done up like a movie almost in the way L4D is? Love that concept...

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

The game looks great at times and not so great in others. Some of the character models are very detailed and realistic, but it seems like the protagonists don't get the same treatment sometimes.

and in the first level there was a stupid graphical glitch that I can't believe the developers overlooked.

*spoilers*??
When Ceasar slaps Jasper, his glasses fall off--the game even goes to a shot of the glasses on the floor. But then a second later they show Jasper in his chair....WITH THE MOTHAF%#$&*# glasses still on, LAWL. Wth is that? Was intentional? HOw could they over look that?

I saw that too, I might be wrong, but I think it was intentional. Another knock on old horror movies from the 70's. What do you guys think?

Definitely intentional. Made me laugh out loud that bit. There's some pretty funny stuff going on. Washington swears too much as reviewers have said. It loses it comedy value as a result.

Enjoyed the first 1.5 levels. Had to stop as the woman of the house wanted to play Animal Crossing. I'll be trying Deadly Creatures later. Hope Chop Til You Drop ends up being better than has been suggested. I have a week off to play!!

Thank you for your helpful reply.  I'm not very good at light gun games already already own 2 (plus Wii Play) so I'm not looking to pick up another but I'm certainly rent the game now.

This may be a stupid question, but is the gameplay similar to Rayman Raving Rabbids plunger shooters at the end of each level?  I like that style of gameplay, much more than RE4 style.

Yes it is similar to the Raving Rabbids "shooter" sections. The movement of the character/camera is not in your control.  If you liked those sections of Rayman, and can handle blood and zombies, you should totally pick this game up.
