It just shows how people are treated like sheep.

"Wait a minute...the commercial isn't clear...and mass population are idiots and can't do your own research. BANED!"

That's because people are idiots, and Microsoft knew this, as does every other company that falsely advertises, and so they try and profit from it.

Lol...true.

Here in Canada we did an ad campaign with the major internet provider Rogers who was advertising a message "Independent study shows Rogers has the fastest internet". 3 months in to the campaign the first person called up Rogers and asked about this "independent study"...which turned out to be completely biased and a joke.

The ads are still running.

Haha, your standards agency needs to get a wiggle on. In the UK all studies on adverts need to have information about the study printed at the bottom of the screen (like sample size, who said yes, no, etc).

For example, a shampoo firm can't just say "9/10" people would recommend this shampoo", there would need to be a sample size on the screen, and exactly how many people said yes/no. I'm not sure, but I think it has to show who run the study as well, but don't quote me on that.

Those "Download movies on Xbox 360, now only €179.99" ads always made me wonder how many people actually bought an Arcade, then realised there was no HD to actually store the movies on.

I may be wrong dallinor but I think £169 in UK is with HD.

They advertised the £129 model, the Arcade.

I read it wrong alright sorry.

Well, k. Bad ads deserved to be pulled. It's suprising, however, that rules are so lax in america. I mean people LOVE to sue. I mean, they have to, it's natures calling. I think the easiest lying commercial that is just a goldmine waiting to be tapped, are those mcdonalds commercials. The food looks the opposite as what it does in the commercials.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I'm pretty sure the ad has a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen that says a HDD is required for movie downloads, and then gives the price for the premium @ £170.

Evidently, THAT is not the center of the issue.  The fact that movies are time-limited is.

I remember the ads for GTA4 showing the game and the DLC planned for autumn, advertising the arcade. Pretty misleading when you know that you will need a hard drive to have the DLC.

thats because everyone already knew Rogers was full of shit and provides terrible service.  i prefer the ads that say they are the "most reliable" it makes me lol because they are the most reliable...you can be sure if they have done something its not going to work properly
