Forums - General - Pressing Issues: More Managers Get The Chop

English Premier League:

So today Tony Adams was sacked as Portsmouth manager while over at Chelsea Luiz Feliepe Scholari was given the boot as well. Neither were given large transfer funds and Adams only had 16 games in charge! For those of you that follow the Premier League what are your thoughts. Were the clubs right, did they not give enough support to the managers and what should be done to prevent managers from being axed on what is seemingly a monthly basis? Let's press the issue.

Can't believe there is not a single football (or 'soccer' if you're just plain wrong) fan with a single thought. Ah well.

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=60049 - I commented about it on this thread. But no one else did, why don't people care about football?

I know right, its strange. Incidentally, you must be pleased with how Villa are doing. Reckon they'll keep it up?

Nah, there is no way Villa will finish in the top four, or perhaps in the top six if we are really unlucky. most of the games we win are 1-0 wins and we only ever score in the last five minutes. The next few games coming up are Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and man U (as well as stoke) We will lose to them four no questions asked, which I think would see us firmly out of the top four.

After that I think it would be hard to recover. Everyone seems to reckon we have done really well, but we very rarely win a game convincingly. I hate saying it about my football team, but I can't see things any other way.

You might beat Chelsea & Liverpool & Stoke & Everton. You beat Arsenal earlier in the season and Chelsea are playing worse than them at that point right now.

Chelseas next manager will be playing his first league game against us that should help AVFC. But the 10 days before Chelsea we have an FA cup match against everton and two European games and internationals. Chelsea just have the FA cup match and internationals, so Chelsea will be full of beans compared to our guys.

Liverpool might have Stevie G back for our match against them, but hopefully not. We should beat Stoke, but when we played them earlier in the season they soundly beat us, but we should be better than them. Everton are really good at the moment.

We haven't a hope against Man U, I can't remember when Van Der Sar last let in a goal.

Against Arsenal, in November (we lost 2-1) that was also our last defeat in the league, he has now gone over 1000 minutes without conceding. I think you stand a good chance. I see either Chelsea or Arsenal losing out. If Chelsea lost out of Champions League that would be disastrous for them given their wage bills and what not.

Sacking Scolari hasn't helped Chelsea. You don't see Arsenal sacking Wenger for poor results, because at the end of the day it will pay off to be patient. The players love Wenger, the fans love Wenger, it will help them out.

Besides Chelsea are in serious financial hardship, Abramovich is running out of Cash fast and he is bored of his toy.

why do you british people always complain about the term soccer when it started as a british nickname for association football?
