When I'm browsing wii or ds games at my local gamestop I have noticed a huge change in the age of people who purchase games. The other day I had a guy and his wife (late 20s) pick up a used wii at the gamestop and was looking to see what games. He got big beach sports I think for his wife so they could play together, and I told him to get Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda because he said he is an old school nintendo fan. (that day I picked up Advanced Wars Day of Ruin). I did the same thing today, I went and picked up Boom Blox for me and my girlfriend, and I got TALES OF SYMPHONIA: DOTNW (we are both 19). Once again today at the gamestop another older couple this time in their 30s came in and picked up summer beach sports and mario party 8 for themselves.

I'd say 50/50 of the time I see either kids from 7-12 or people 25 and older there.  I don't see very many teenagers or young adults in the wii section. However I do always see them in the 360 section.    Before the wii came out I've never seen this many middle aged people buying games to enjoy themselves instead of their kids.  Everytime I see Nintendo reaching out to someone who does not normally game I always get that warm and fuzzy feeling.  

Now if I swing by the elctronics section of my local Walmart then that is a different story I normally see many more teenagers their looking at games ( I presume they are waiting for their mothers to get done shopping). 

We all know the wii is breaking an amazing amount of ground into the casual market, but after all this time, I can finally see the change in the consumers in person. 

Has anyone else had  simliar experiences?

I always see annoying 13-year olds buying PS3 games. About 15-year olds for 360 games. Wii games are usually bought either by 10-or under boys, adults, or girls of any age.

Basically the whole range.

If I go into target, Big W or Kmart I see children and adults, as well as the occasional teenager

If I go into Game, EB games, JB hifi, or the Gamesmen I see teenagers and the occasional child or adult

Well to be honest gaming has grown so much lately it seems like I always see people of all ages every time I go. Children, teens, young adults, and older people all enjoying games. Finally games are approach the same acceptance as film. Not fully yet but give it time and it will.

Well, I see like like 13+ people in the Xbox 360 and Ps3 section and in the Wii section i see some kids,lots teens and a few adults.
