Forums - Nintendo - Call Of Duty Wii get another adjustment bump. Now up to 870K

This is great news, but it does not automatically mean The Conduit will sell well, too.

Call of Duty is a very established brand (mainstream) and The Conduit is as unestablished as you can get (unmainstream).

I'm more interested in how House of the Dead: Overkill, Tenchu: Shadow Assassin, and Deadly Creatures will sell (the latter in particular).

Only then can I make some judgement about hardcore third-party games on Wii.

Do you really think CoD benefitted by being "established" on the Wii. The previous version executed the controls so badly that I almost wept because CoD is a favorite of mine and I was so looking forward to playing it with Wiimote control. I never got half way through because i just couldn't stand it.

Hard to say the effect on sales but I do believe it had something to do with the extremely slow start. I know I damn sure was waiting on word that they had gotten it right this time before I even went looking for a copy.

The rest was caused by low shipments and a complete lack of promotional support. But it's in Wiistealth sales mode now and if they will just keep it on the shelf, I am very comfortable with my prediction of 2M by 1/1/2010.

Were posters actually calling it a flop? Even at 650k I would have considered it a success.

Even at 650k, there were a lot of people calling it a flop.

Nice to see it at a more deserving sales level.

At current pace ti will be a million seller in 4 weeks.   I'll give it 6 weeks just to allow for some slowdown.

COD3 even received an adjustment to 720k (still America only).  COD3 gained another 100k after this point but CoD:WaW has a much higher sales rate which suggest another 3-400k in just America should take place this year.

That would make it a million seller in America alone and a global total of 1.4-1.5 million is possible.

I'm sure activision wants to have a wii version of MW2 out. How could they not want to sell an extra million copies. I'm quite confident a MW2 on wii would do 2 million copies. These people are going to buy it again, there will be new wii users, and more copies will be shipped because of the success of WAW.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

Nicely done CoD5 - leaps ahead of CoD3 and pwns all the doubters

this thread made me happy.

it was called a huge bomb by everyone in the first week, it opened with 45k i think

Ahh. So it didn't exactly follow a conventional sales patern.

That doesn't really make those incorrect posters 'haters' though, does it?

A lot of Wii games don't follow a conventional pattern, but quite few people haven't clued into this yet.

You really can't call a Wii game a flop after just one week, and you probably shouldn't after just one month, either.

The turkey that every day greedily approaches the farmer who tosses him grain is not wrong. It is just that no one ever told him about Thanksgiving.

Although a few posters seemed to take an unseemly, even obscene amount of pleasure in seeing this great game “fail” on the Wii; I am inclined to be generous and attribute it to unfamiliarity with Wii buying patterns rather than fanboy excess.

NOOOOOO!. You removed your "Fight in their world - Peace in our world" sig pic.

No Wii Music adjustment?
It is quite undertracked compared to Nintendo's sales figures (till december)

I never see you beyotches online in CoD anymore.
