Forums - Nintendo - Call Of Duty Wii get another adjustment bump. Now up to 870K

http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=23991

Up from 650K estimates just last week.

Now we know anyone calling this a flop or a failure is outright lying. This is way more than a typical HD game needs to break even, and this is a Wii version of a multiplatform game. It's a hit.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Hate to say it... but I told everyone so haha. But that's alright. But good to see people are buying this. It bodes well for The Conduit.

some people will still call it a flop, but whatever

good to see it close to a million

Happy to say I was wrong!

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

That it does. Call of Duty: World at War is sure to pass RedSteel in FPS sales on the Wii.

The Conduit should get atleast 1 million. It might even outsell Metroid Prime 3. (1.50 million)

Yeah i'm really happy to see it doing well. HOwever zack and wiki was adjusted down 160k and tos dotnw by about 80k :(

BTW, using comparative sales to the HD versions (because someone would) is pretending Activision cares about comparative sales. It's still profit, which really matters with this economy.

This is great news, but it does not automatically mean The Conduit will sell well, too.

Call of Duty is a very established brand (mainstream) and The Conduit is as unestablished as you can get (unmainstream).

I'm more interested in how House of the Dead: Overkill, Tenchu: Shadow Assassin, and Deadly Creatures will sell (the latter in particular).

Only then can I make some judgement about hardcore third-party games on Wii.

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85

The wii is a mainstream console, and COD is a mainstream franchise. They go well together.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

What'd be the situation of the franchise if Call of Duty 4 had appeared on the Wii??
