Bethesda just doesn't like the Wii. but most of there games are way to BIG for the Wii to handle.

But Elder Scrolls III was on the Xbox. Why not make a Wii exclusive game playing on the strengths of the Wii?

It was on xbox probably because microsoft offered them money. The xbox was the only console last gen of running it. Just like 360/PS3 are the only consoles able to run oblivion. The Wii just cant handle that type of game.

I call bullshit on this one ...

Games like Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 do have large worlds but only very small portions of these worlds are loaded into memory being simulated at any one time. There really is nothing preventing you from making a game similar to Fallout 3 for the Wii or Nintendo DS if you wanted to ...

You do know that Emergent Game Technologies now has the Gamebryo engine running on Wii, don't you.  Guess what games that powered?  Oblivion and Fallout 3.

What strengths does the Wii have? So many other games have you swing it as a sword etc etc. Aim it as a gun etc etc. Bethesda is all about huge games with lots of choices. They cant make huge wii games.

Because? They could make huge games just not huge games that look good by todays standards. They could definately make a game that looks better than Morrowind though with the same size(or bigger) of morrowind for the Wii.

Have you seen the draw distance on fallout3 and oblivion? The wii cannot handle that much stuff on screen at once. That is fact,

Viper1, the game engine means nothing. Most game engines can be dumbed down or pimped out to meet what it needs to do. But fallout3 and oblivion are meant to have huge open worlds. With vast draw distances. Have you played either of these? On my computer I cant do the full draw distance for Oblivion, when it cant draw from as far as is needed, it looks all weird and ugly.

The wii can be fun for other games. But It just wont work for this. Only 360/PS3/high End PCs can run fallout. My computer is pretty good(Oblivion at half settings) with no frame dropping. But the wii is like the PS2 + a few roids thrown in. That is pretty much it. I love my Wii for zelda(pretty big gameworld, just not as huge or detailed as oblivion or even close to fallout3.

Huge is a relative term. Sure you can say morrorwind was huge, But it was 1/20th of the size of oblivion it seems like. so even if you can make a large world on the wii, say twice the size of the sized of morrorwind, You wouldnt be able to say its huge compared to today's standards right?

That's a pretty false fact you've got going there ... You could easily make a Wii game with a better draw distance with more objects on screen, it would just come at the expense of polygonal and texture detail of the objects.

What I am trying to say is. Bethesda is all about how the game looks, and having that huge draw distance. The Wii cant do both. That is why it is not suited to Bethesda's needs. See what I am saying?

EDIT, for some reason my post was posted twice sorry.

1/20th? No more like 1/3rd. Also to get a scale of size morrowind was about .01% the size of Daggerfall(the exception is Daggerfall's terain was randomly generated). You could make the game as big as you want(as long as it fits on the DVD). That isn't the problem. As for draw distances that depends on how much stuff is on screen, and at what quality it is graphically. I don't see your point.

wait, now the Wii is a toy!?

let's update:

Wii - GC 1.5
      - kiddy console
      - the console no-one plays
      - the console that sells no software
      - sells no 3rd party software
      - has a stupid controller
      - has no hard-core games
      - is a toy

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
