It sounds to me like you purchase it with in-game currency. This sounds remarkably similar to what Level 5 did for the Layton series which was/is free content. If there is a cost associated with it then I will agree with you, but currently I am leaning towards just bonus stuff for connecting online.

If you don´t pay then it´s more than fine. Online play with a new quest every week and no fee is great. Imo much better than a MMO with a monthly fee and even microtransactions.

This is what I'm hoping. And it sure sounds like in-game currency.
It sounds like they're really putting a lot into DQ9. I'm hopeful it'll turn out pretty awesome.
lets hope they deliver this good and early vs the dlc for many HD games don't seem to come out for a year or two.
I still want to know what they are doing with multiplayer. Though this new quest thing sounds great.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
that's great. I'm at the brink of buying a DS just for this.
i wonder with it's new quest every week feature, if that means you'll only be able to access that quest that week (you can't play quest from previous weeks) and i just don't like that.
it's like one of the scant few things that i complain about with mk wii's online, that after the period for one of their tournaments is over, you can never play that special level for the tournament ever again. i would have preferred them to have the past library of tournament levels available to play. even if you can no longer submit a high score for it, it would just be nice to be able to play a year old tournament to remember back or something.
come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568
