Forums - Nintendo - Mushroom Men.

So I have heard a lot about this game before it was released but then nothing at all afterwards. Yea it's gotten some fair/average reviews and whatnot but I'd like to hear from you all about it.

Would you all recommend it? What are general pros/cons? Did you buy it? Regretfully?

Review sites seem to say it's too generic or whatever but I'd like to hear your personal (not fanboy) opinions as to whether or not it's a good buy. It's also suffering badly in sales I believe.

it's not released in europe yet

Improvements are caused by people who complain

the answers to this thread will determine if that's a good thing or not

Mediocre, better than most other games, puzzles are very simple - I over thought anything that I got stuck at, has notable physics, visuals are very nice, clearly couldn't have been a PS2 game maybe higher end GC visuals, on the go item creation is fun.

Lacks the wow factor for a second run through, has stuff for you to unlock if you want to do the second run through, end game weapons are nice but nothing super amazing.

In conclusion: What it does it does well, but not amazing and not great - nothing too memorable about it, interesting design, not worth the 50 USD in my opinion more like 30 or 40. (Sorry Red Fly)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

free market sucks. If it had advertising it would have done better.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I haven't tried it but it looked good from screenshots. I haven't played it yet either unfortunately but i'll be following the thread.

Thanks dibs. what game can it be compared to?

hm, seems i'm the only one here who got the chance to play this game, i'm close to the end, maybe i should write a review about it later

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Well the DS version was a mess. Actual concept and set-up is okay, but the game has way too many rough edges. Enemies can juggle you to death, small falls can kill you, archaic death peneatly, odd placement of save points, poorly designed combination touch screen/button controls, annoying and unessecary backtracking. The list goes on. Only good thing was making your own weapons. Ton of different way to combine items and get cool stuff, but towards the end of the game I was constantly rearranging my inventory to make room for something I probably wouldn't figure out what to combine with.

Haven't played the Wii version myself.
