I think they are going the way of the buffalo.
Really don't care if they all disappear, they are way to biased now.
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing
(mostly)
And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
As a journalist i believe the sooner they die the better. I know realistically books and newspapers have a much better chance of surviving. Saves wasted paper, there is alot, but logically the internet is faster, more responsive and much more functional for the reader.
These are all excellent reasons why magazines will die off.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
they will die,why waste money on old news when you can check everything for free on the web.
i think that all magazines, newspapers, and even books will eventually die out due to the electronic/internet age dawning.
vg magazines are hit the hardest since the people who read them are the ones who are more interested in technology, and hence have a stronger desire to go to the internet to find things.
in the future, all forms of print media will die out, when technology becomes more indispensable than what it is today. and this is a good thing, because we will finally save the environment a lot of trash burden. i really can't imagine how much garbage print media produces...

They won't all die. There is a certain point where demand for these magazines will bottom out, but it will be very hard to destroy demand. They could go niche, (moreso than they are, anyway), but not die. We are in the middle of a great weeding out of unworthy magazines, but those who live through this troubled time will reached the promised land. A small promised land to be sure, but one where death doesn't come knocking at your door every three months or so.
Certainly they'll be relegated to legacy products, but that's pretty much where their value is anyway (especially since the quality of writing on Gaming Websites is only going up, even if we do all bitch and moan about their bias, you do see a great frequency of truly inciteful articles)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
if they die then that opens a window for online sites such as these to require membership $ just so they can capitalize on the $
