The game looks fun. Too bad it contains one of my RPG pet peeves: First Person dungeons. :(

Because those PS1 games cost ~$30, while a brand new copy of Persona is going ~$200 on Amazon.

And it is a port, and there are a few noticable changes to make it the best version available.

And let's face it PSP is so much more forgivable to PS1 era graphics than throwing such game into PS3 and playing it on 40-50" LCD.

 

@Mai - while you might be lucky enough to get orginal Persona 1 or other ps1 era rpgs a lot of people do not have them and they aren't interested in paying $100 for used copy from ebay.

As in actually owning the game (which is out of print and selling way above its original price 2nd hand). Might ebay mine even, I wasn't aware it was getting those prices.

Also, this game has new content, the Snow Queen scenario (that was partly developed for the original, but abandoned and unaccessible), and issued with the battle times have been addressed.

Anyway, if you deem it's not worth it for you, you certainly don't NEED to buy it.
I myself would rather have the psp version and replay that, I tried replaying the original but it hasn't aged well, plus once you are aware how butchered the localization is, that keeps disturbing as well.

It looks like they're trying to appeal to the P3/P4 crowd. I played the first one, and it was good. First person view for dungeons suck though.

Trailer looks pretty cool. Love the music. This might make me buy another PSP if it comes here. Nice find Star Scream.

That's not a problem, I don't need a brand new copy of PS1 game to play it on PSP. If they want me to buy Persona for PSP they need to make a quality port with some noticeable enhancements or just release it on PSN for a couple of $.

I can understand why people play the same game over and over again. But that's beyond my understanding why the heck do I need to pay for the very same damn game each time I want to replay it? Metroid Prime with Wii controls? That's OK. Persona 3 FES with complete new story? Yep, I'm sold. Total graphics rehash in Wipeout HD? Good. But the very same PS1 game on PSP that's already available on PSP via hardware emulation? Nope.

But good thing it looks to be an improved game for players who didn't know about Persona and for old fans.
