Atheist

Lies. In real life people are just too pussy to admit they're an atheists, they fear the christians.

This probably plays a slight role, but I think the greater reason is simply demographic. This is a videogame website about sales, markets and business. The demographic here is largely 15-25 year old males who are more educated than you would find on average than at a place like neogaf or IGN. This demographic is going to largely skew atheistic by comparison to other demographics. It's not exactly an accurate sampling. But I think it does show that in the future atheism will continue to grow. As the older more religiously inclined demographics grow old and die out, they will be replaced by a demographic that is at present young and atheistic.

Atheist

Thats not true. For ever young athiest there is a young religious person. You probably have never been in the American South or other countries like the Isreal, Bangladesh, China, or Egypt.

West America =/= the world.

I live in Kentucky. And yes I am aware that the religious outnumber the atheistic. I never contended that they didn't. I am merely pointing out atheism is a growing trend, not that the world will be 51% atheistic in another generation.

I've been on several other gaming forums and they had significantly higher percentages of non-religious people aswell.

Atheism and Agnosticism is growing quickly in the west. In my countries last census non-religion grew the most in real numbers then any of the religions and Christianity shrunk slightly.

Interesting times.
