Forums - Gaming - Battlefield 1943 coming to XBLM & PSN this summer.

EA has officially announced Battlefield 1943, revealing that it will be a downloadable PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade game, as well as being made available for PC.

“Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that we’re eager to get into players hands,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE.

Battlefield 1943 takes players back to WWII and is set to offer “endless hours” of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

“Delivering the award-winning through-the-gun and vehicle warfare online experience DICE is best recognized for, Battlefield 1943 will have players battling in ruthless aerial dog fights and intense trench combat.”

Players can see the game in action at New York Comic Con from February 6th-8th

Look like the same Battlefield I played to death, now with destructible environments and an extra coat of spit-polish.

Nice catch for the HD crowd. Too bad they left out Midway, my favourite Pacific map. I'm betting they're going to offer more maps as DLC, though.

Heh, your comment above could have made the IGN Tope 10 list made few days ago.

I'm guessing this is what sparked that rumor about Battlefield Heroes going to PSN.

Where did BF Heroes go? Was Dice (if dice is making it) to busy making mirror's edge, bad company, bad company 2, BF 1943? Come on that aren't many games :)
