Take Two lost money on the GTA4 release. I thought that the astronomical development costs on MGS4 would make Konami lose money as well. Rather surprised that they not only profited, but beat their previous' years too.

 Take Two lost money from GTA4 because the advertising skewed profit margins.  I would also imagine that Konami made more from PES than MGS4.

I hadn't actually thought about Konami but it's good news seeing as how at least someone is making money

but the PES sales are always there every year. they increased their income this year with metal gear. didn't metal gear have just about the same amount of advertising?

Almost every other company lost money. So Konami got lucky and made a profit.
