Forums - Nintendo - Will new Wiimote's have Motion Plus built-in?

Standalone Wiimote+ would be a good idea, but keep the accessory separate too so people could upgrade if they wish.

One issue I felt that may happen with a built in WM+ is that if they retain the same shape as the Wii Remote, the sensor would be in a different position to people with the add on and that may interfere with the tracking ability i.e. it'd be programmed to know that the sensor is further down and it could throw it a bit off.

I don't think we'll see an intergration but we may see a drop in the price of the Wii Remote itself so the added cost of a WM+ isn't as much as it would be otherwise.

Will not be built in or bundled with future Wiimotes for the Wii. As mentioned no forced costs and no requirement to upgrade base components. As Ninteno will not allow a game require WiiMP exclusive to be released.

I do believe it will be a built in for Wii2 controllers. Which will also probably be backwards compatible.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

If they don't, wii-motes will be ridiculous. Buying a full wii-mote will cost more than 80 dollars. An 80 fucking  dollars controller that is supposed to be standard. 40 dollar mote, 20 dollar nunchuck and I'm guessing wii motion + will sell separate of Wii sports resort for at least another 20 dollars.

I thought it was dumb having to buy a 60 dollar controller if I wanted to play boxing with a friend. Want to play the Kendo game with a friend on wii sports resort? You're looking at an 80 dollar plus controller. I don't care if you're fanboy or not, 80 dollars is insane for what should be a standard controller.

You're right. They have to include it. Actually I'm waiting for the Wiimote+ before I'll buy a second controller... it's just too expensive already.

The new controllers should be released alongside the M+ add on for existing controllers (which should be bundled with several games), to ensure a quick transition to M+ for most of the Wii market.

What's irritating is that Nintendo didn't include M+ in Mario Tennis... that would have been a perfect showcase. Hmm.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

Hope so. If there will be a 150€ pricedrop and a free wm+, I might buy a wii. :o

I don't think so.

They will leave it to next gen.
