Forums - Nintendo - Will new Wiimote's have Motion Plus built-in?

Malstrom has stumbled upon a interesting question, here.

As a game, I have tried to come up with ‘the most important question’ whose answer would determine the future of the game industry. Aside from questions of whether Sony and Microsoft adopting motion controllers, I think the most important question, as of this time, is: “Will Nintendo integrate motion plus into new controllers or will it always be an accessory?” This answer to a seemingly unworthy question would drastically determine the path of the game industry. We will likely find the answer to this question at E3. If the answer is integration, bam, we have entered the next generation of Wii, so to say. If motion plus stays as an accessory, then Nintendo intends for a new console to eventually come instead of upgrading the customer experience by upgrading all the controllers.

I believe motion plus will be integrated. This might be one of the reasons for the delay.

I've been wondering this myself because I remember the Rumble Pack being a addon then Sony comes out with a controller with it built-in (Dual Shock). Now every controller has it built-in.

With Nintendo's Q&A talks of prolonged lifespan of a hardware, I don't think they intend for a new console to eventually come. No, but I still have to wonder since they'd have to ballance the add-on and the new wiimotes respectivilly. If they did I'd definitely get it.

Oh, I can hardly wait for E3 to come!

i think that they will sell it independently at first but then if it doesnt sell well then they will do it then

Seems logical to me.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

no they won't, thats one thing nintendo is pretty clear on it seems this gen.  They don't want to force extra costs onto us at start.

They ain't making us pay for a hard-drive, or dvd plyaer or anything else we don't need to play the games.  so why woudl they start with motion+ when no game in existance uses it

Actually Iwata let the cat out of the bag in a way, if someone tracks Wii sales current trends and use his numbers as a standing point, you can find out how long the Wii will be on the market. My best guess is that Nintendo has already completed the Wii's successor and are just fine tuning and adding some bells and whistles.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

yes i know it is bundled, and lol i hav no idea wat u just said

@irstupid

Let me clear this up I'm not talking about next week or anything. I'm talking about sometime after Motion Plus/Wii Sports Resort is released.

I don't know about initally, but I think in the long term yes.

I also think that eventually Wii Sports Resort will replace Wii Sports as the title included with the Wii. That's why I think that some of the proposed ten mini games in Wii Sports Resort will be enhanced versions of the Wii Sports games.

Another possibility that I think is interesting: will Nintendo create a new nunchuck with the M+ hardware built in?
