Forums - Microsoft - Interesting Halo:ODST tidbits.

It seems more like Half Life 2 episode X or other such expansions. There are always new things introduced but it uses the same engine and everything so they don't ask for full price (though they do ask you to pay for it).

It sets a bad precedent if they charge the full 60 IMO. If you can just put out a game that has identical tech to the last game and say its a full sequel where is the incentive in making Resistance 2 and Gears 2 vastly different (and better) then their predecessors? Why not just make Gears of War 3 in half the time by just adding new content to Gears of War 2's engine and leaving most things the same, just add in a hide mechanic and a new character and call it a day.

If I'm going to pay 60 bucks on games (which is already too much, it should be 50 still like with the PC) I expect full original games.

are they going to gouge by charging 60 bucks for what seems to be more or less an expansion/DLC type thing or are they going to make it 30-40?

It really should be a 30 buck DLC, it doesn't seem THAT much more involved then the new GTA4 DLC is in that it uses the same engine and everything.

It's an entirely new game with a completely new campaign and completely dissimilar combat mechanics with an original narrative. What more do you want?

hopefully they take the blizzard approach where they A) make really good full featured expansions and B) keep the price reasonable (at about 60% of what the new game costs). 30-35 bucks is a good price point for the game unless there are DRASTICALLY awesome features or a big upgrade to the graphics engine which don't seem to be in the cards.

All right, if it doesn't feel like a $60 game that's fine.

But it's not an expansion. You don't need Halo 3 to play this.

As far as any mention has gone, Halo 3: ODST will be $30-$40.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I don't know much about this game, but after reading Khuutra's post, and then yours, yours makes no sense at all.

This game is supposedly very different from Halo 3, as far as FPS goes. ODST is a FPS, right? :P

I can't wait to get, I need new Halo disc. My Halo 3 doesn't work anymore .
