nintendo_fanboy said: It's funny how this topic comes back all the time. Just look at the Gamecube's games releases, SSB, Mario, Zelda and Metroid also came out within a little more than a year after launch and MK a little after, so that's really nothing new. Here is just a couple of proven franchises from the last two gens that Nintendo may is already working on a sequel:
Donkey Kong Yoshy Kirby Star Fox Pikmin Wave Race 1080° Golden Sun Paper Mario Mario Golf Mario Tennis Baten Kaitos Luigi's Mansion
Besides, there is a couple of older franchises that may will be revived, best examples are Kid Icarus and Earthbound. Also, a couple of titles will sure see a second installment on the Wii, Zelda and Mario Party is a sure bet, maybe Mario will also be playing in two platformers this time, Wario Ware and Excite Truck will probably come back. And we still have new IP's that will come, Disaster is one but I'm sure there is more.
You see, there's loads of games that could come, and that's only for first party titles.

Donkey Kong and Golden Sun are the only two games that I can see having big sales potential... all the others ones are fillers... yes they might be good but compared to the heavy hitting end of 07 early 08 they need something special to compare.
Star Fox... maybe
Luigi's Mansion... maybe
Yoshi game... maybe
I am very interested in what they will do next.
Hell, I wish game developers weren't afraid to re-use engines like back in the SNES days, that is why there were so many good games then... GTA3 is a fine example of putting a good 3d game into re-hash mode, it was still fun.
Examples I can think of from way back yonder, Mario Bros 1, 2 (Lost levels), 3. Donkey Kong Countries, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe III, Sonic 1, 2 3 etc
Make a 3D Mario game using the galaxy engine based in the mushroom kingdom in which the worlds are simply a 3D like remake of Super Mario Bros 3 from NES... simple there is your next 20 billion seller.
