Forums - Nintendo - MP3, SMG, SMKart, SSBM all within a few months! What's N working on for 08?

I think they already said something about a Wii Zelda (TP was a GC port, wasn't it?).
A second "Wii Play" game. (for the zapper)

I would guess a Wii Sports 2 will come some day (using Balance Board + Wii mode?). Another Mario Party will come for sure. And well, maybe a Donkey Kong game.

But your right, i also thought about how Nintendo is bringing all the big guns out till early 08. They seem to be confident to keep up with demand at some point. What big franchise Nintendo has left for the Wii, all the Big seem to come in a little over 1 Year. Nintendo has to fill 5. So i think, they have plans they don't talk about at the moment.

Is there Pikmin3 for the Wii?

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

New IP. Smash Bros Beach Voleyball. Peach in a thong, Link in a speedo. All the gamers in the world die in front of their TV. A verysticky TV.

Seriously though, since we mentioned all the big titles, how about Golden Sun Wii? Or the unexpected Mario Party 9?

"You won't find Adobe here in Nairobi"

Wii Fit will hit USA/Europe next year, not this one.

There's also Wii Music and Wii Motorsports, Disaster : Day of Crisis, the currently-on-hold Project Hammer.

Animal Crossing Wii hasn't been started yet last we heard (the main guy who does the series was just finishing up a different project according to an E3'07 interview with Miyamoto).

That's about all I know for sure.

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

i wish more that game companies would use already established engines and just pump out games with new levels.

Mario Galaxy's engine would be great for another 3D Mario game on the Wii in a years time... all they need to do is design the levels and pump the game out, like the old days of the NES... that would be cool, but will never happen.

I really have no idea what Nintendo will pull off for 08, but there is plenty of gaming goodness this year for me to have... I just don't know where i'm going to get all the time to play all the games that I want to play this f'n year.

Nintendo confirmed at E3 to be working on Pikmin Wii. So we have

announced big games:

Mario Kart Wii
Pikmin Wii
Kirby Wii
Zelda Wii (Yes, there was already confirmed to be one in production, but don't expect this earlier than Holiday 09 at best)
Animal Crossing Wii
Disaster
Camelot RPG (probably Golden Sun, after all it's all they do lol)

Possibles:

Kid Icarus
Star Fox
Donkey Kong (and adventure/platformer game like the old Rare ones on the N64)
F-Zero
Some new IP we couldn't even imagine

People have to remember that the concept artists and teams responsible for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are already working on the next game. Same with Retro Studios. You can bet none of these people are working on the next Wii Fit either. These are hardcore game developers, and unless Nintendo is firing them, they are going to be working on more hardcore games. What those games will be is any body's guess. Every time I try to predict what Nintendo will do they come out with something that I didn't expect at all. I'm content to sit back and watch knowing that one of the best developers in the world will continue to supply me with good games.

Luigi's Mansion Wii.

Well I thought the first one was excellent and imaginative.

Wii Remote + Vacuum cleaner ...

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

It's funny how this topic comes back all the time. Just look at the Gamecube's games releases, SSB, Mario, Zelda and Metroid also came out within a little more than a year after launch and MK a little after, so that's really nothing new. Here is just a couple of proven franchises from the last two gens that Nintendo may is already working on a sequel:

Donkey Kong
Yoshy
Kirby
Star Fox
Pikmin
Wave Race
1080°
Golden Sun
Paper Mario
Mario Golf
Mario Tennis
Baten Kaitos
Luigi's Mansion

Besides, there is a couple of older franchises that may will be revived, best examples are Kid Icarus and Earthbound. Also, a couple of titles will sure see a second installment on the Wii, Zelda and Mario Party is a sure bet, maybe Mario will also be playing in two platformers this time, Wario Ware and Excite Truck will probably come back. And we still have new IP's that will come, Disaster is one but I'm sure there is more.

You see, there's loads of games that could come, and that's only for first party titles.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

And NOE are actually trying to bring Mario Kart to Europe this year due to the lack of SSBB.

As much as I hope it is true, it's highly improbable. In the EU, the release schedule is even more cramped! Super Paper Mario in September, Metroid 3 in October, Mario Galaxy in November.

@ Origin:
Yeah, a "Mario Galaxy II" based on the same engine would be cool. But by now, people expect Nintendo to do something wildly different with every new Mario game, so I think it won't happen. Just look at the reception of Mario Sunshine (which I loved).

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

Donkey Kong and Golden Sun are the only two games that I can see having big sales potential... all the others ones are fillers... yes they might be good but compared to the heavy hitting end of 07 early 08 they need something special to compare.

Star Fox... maybe
Luigi's Mansion... maybe
Yoshi game... maybe

I am very interested in what they will do next.

Hell, I wish game developers weren't afraid to re-use engines like back in the SNES days, that is why there were so many good games then... GTA3 is a fine example of putting a good 3d game into re-hash mode, it was still fun.

Examples I can think of from way back yonder, Mario Bros 1, 2 (Lost levels), 3.  Donkey Kong Countries, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe III, Sonic 1, 2 3 etc

Make a 3D Mario game using the galaxy engine based in the mushroom kingdom in which the worlds are simply a 3D like remake of Super Mario Bros 3 from NES... simple there is your next 20 billion seller.
