Forums - Nintendo - Iwata Q&A interesting tidbits - SD card storage fix coming Spring, more...

SD cards would provide enough storage, but yeah SDHC would be better.

WiiWare and VC games don't needs heaps of space, it's just that the internal storage doesn't cut it.

So he has good reason to keep both around. Yay.

I really hope it allows downloading to and lauching games direct from SD cards. Cleaning out my fridge is getting really annoying.

This is exactly waht it does.

It also ups the spec to SDHC allowing for higher capacity cards and transfer speeds.

You can buy a 32 GB SDHC card for $80 on Newegg and that will surely be less come spring time when the bigger 64 GB cards launch.   A 16 GB card is just $25 bucks right now.

Are you sure?

That's nothing, I just bought a 1 TB HDD for $110.00.

But not the point. Point is that we can expand the 512 MB internal RAM by 16 GB for $25, 32 GB for $80 (will come way down by spring), etc...

That wasn't to compare against the price ratio of capacity per dollar.

1 TB? WTF...

I have a 1TB hard drive which I bought for £70 but it is soon going to be filled up so I might have to get a new one.  How do you fill up a 1TB hard drive you ask?  Well I have a HD recorder and record HD movies from Sky HD.  Each movie is around 11gb and I record at least 2 movies a day.  Don't ask when I will ever get a chance to ever watch all those movies but at least it's good that I have them on tap ready to watch if I have nothing else better to do.

Glee!

if they made it executable from sd card (still too soon to tell whether this is what is really happening) that would solve most peoples problems. even the currently largest game on the service, world of goo, would only take about 30-45 seconds. anbd assuming that they allow hdsd cards, that might be faster.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

Thanks.

I hinted at Dead Space a few months ago but couldn't say anything yet.
