I was looking through N4G and found this thread. There MAY be hope yet for PS3 owners envying Bioshock. Basicly, someone was messing around with the Bioshcok PC demo to find that the console has options for both Xbox360 and PS3 specific settings

Edit: DEBUNKADONK!!!!! sorry i had to do it.... -_-

As a nintendo fan (and video game fanboy who will get all 3 consoles eventually) I must say that I believe we will see Metal Gear Solid on 360 before we see Bioshock on PS3 as porting makes a lot more sense in that direction:

PS3->360 is easier architecture-wise therefore cheaper to do and provide a bigger secondary market whereas 360->PS3 is harder due to Cell and the RAM and VRAM being split and the secondary market is much smaller (even worse when factoring out Japan which is not the target demographic for FPS's).

The only thing that might make it harder to port MGS4 is if Hideo really needs a dual layer Blu-ray AND if it cannot be compressed and/or split like MGS1 was on PS1.

The mentions of "Cell Processor" and the apparition of the sixaxis are weak arguments against it being ported as it would be easy as pie to change it to "It's packing the power of six processors* into one" and a 360 controller (whether or not the motion control is used in the in-game sixaxis).

*360's triple core with dual thread

everything can be more or less compressed and everything can be put on several disc... the question is... how much will it cost, and how convinient will it be..... I don't see any port any time soon... and honestly I don't care... if you really want a game just buy the system it's on :)

Rocketpig, I tried the PC demo and I couldn't get how it was so great. It was good, but not like the second coming of Christ good.

The demo really tells you nothing of the story. The way they build environments and storylines through the diaries are great. But, no game is for every player out there. I personally think BioShock is the best game I've played in years, or at least it's shaping up that way halfway through the game. Things could change but according to my friends who are nearly finished, it's still great.

Shit, sometimes I find myself stopping in the middle of a tunnel just to look around at the city outside. I've probably done it seven or eight times already. The environment is brilliant and while the gameplay isn't really "innovative", it doesn't need to be. It is a fine implementation of the FPS genre and leaves the brilliance to the story, environment, and characters.

I do wish it was a little harder though. I accidentally started on medium difficulty without noticing and didn't want to go back and start over.

Rocketpig, you can change the difficulty whenever you want in the options menu

question is it a little bit scarry ??? :)
