@a - I am sorry, I thought you wanted links showing the anti-hype for Killzone on VGC. 

Anyway, we have pretty much derailed Darth's thread.  I am sorry for that.  I do think that Killzone 2 has in many respects vindicated itself based upon the 2005 criticisms.  It is hard to label it as the "Comeback Kid", but if the early reviews are any measurement it should be a very good game.

 

No problem, it's getting a little heated in here anyways :)

Perhaps we should all get tback on topic.

Wow, this thread is a mess. I'm locking it.

And yes, Killzone 2 was hated on more than most games. Why? Because unlike games like Gears 2, fanboys had plenty of ammo to use against Killzone 2. They could say "Killzone 1 sucked, why would this be any better?" or "Killzone had loads of hype and look how it turned out. Killzone 2 is the same thing all over again." or "lol, Guerrilla Games have never made a good game." Hell, even unbiased posters bought into reasoning like that.

And if you look back, even journalists were hating on the game. Remember EGM's infamous Halo 3 vs Killzone 2 AI comparison from E307? They compared a game a year and a half away from release to a game only a month out!
