I'm pro game... with a leaning towards the Xbox 360 as my chosen console... much like our friend Seraphic has a leaning towards the PS3... though he's one better on me since I'm broke and can't get a PS3(I am taking donations though :-p and I"m only half joking about that.. I really would use any money to get one hehe). Also I was of the mind that it'll be around 40 million... I expect it to average around 200k/wk world wide for the first 42 weeks of the year and then sell 3-6 million during the holidays. Last year it was much like Sony will be this year... very flat and low numbers as it reached it's saturation point at the 270 low point. At 200 bucks I don't expect it to hit a saturation point until it nears the 40 million mark. Then it'll need to drop the price to 180 at least though 160 seemed to be the magic number for the PS1 and PS2. If Microsoft can keep hitting the price drops at the right moment to keep momentum they could see a much higher lifetime than most of us though even coming into this year. Also remember that HDDs have a bottoming out point so it's likely that at some point Microsoft will go with a solid state replacement... probably in 2010 or 11 that will allow the HDD version to be replaced with smaller solid state machines. I read an article on a site (that escapes my memory) that talks about HDD getting replaced by solid states at prices drop and read times completely eclipse HDD.
