It was also extremely front-loaded, especially in Japan and US. Just look at the Media Create and NPD numbers.

It fluctuates between one and two depending on whether hardware pops up.  If hardware pops up, then the Wii takes #1.

Yeah but 2.6 million of it comes from the first month. It's done 1.2 million since then. That's pretty front loaded.

Edit: To answer the OP, Killzone 2 will outsell R2 by a lot. A lot. Sony made a mistake putting R2 is it's seller against Gears 2, and then made an even bigger mistake by not following up with a proper ad campaign for it. If Sony messes this up, it would be kindergarten stupid.

Will it be the FPS of the PS3 though? Unlikely. Call of Duty sits on the cusp of 4 million. That's a large feat to overcome for KZ2. It's not impossible though.

Tv ads for R2 were running the entire Holiday season where i live in Canada,  they were going for a long time after every other holiday title stopped running ads.  Gears2 had almost zero Tv ads.  I've seen the R2 ad 100's of times and seen it on just about TV channel i watch.  The R2 ad was even run many times on Fox Tv during their sunday night primetime.

Well Killzone 2 has had lot of help from internet.
Many many "Zomg" "Killzoned" and "Omg that can't be real" comments/pics have been made in these past few years...Indeed this game "Killzoned" me with few months ago.

I personaly was very dissapointed in Resistance 2,so I hope Killzone 2 will not dissapoint me...
I'm gonna buy this first day.

Well if that's true then that means the PS3 community just doesn't find the series very appealing, since FPS have every oppurtunity to sell on the black box.
