Forums - Sony - LBP DLC HUGE HIT! 6/10 Spots in Jan PSN Add-On Chart (#1 = MGS4 LBP DLC)

Shock! MGS4 LittleBigPlanet pack is top downloaded add-on in January

The latest episode of Pulse reveals yet another Top 10 list, this time focusing on the downloadable add-ons available on the Store. Unsurprisingly, the Metal Gear Solid Level Kit for LittleBigPlanet is the top download in January, followed by the accompanying Costume Kit.

It's interesting to see how thoroughly LittleBigPlanet dominates this list. The various add-ons make up 6 of the top 10 downloads. Sony must be raking in quite a bit of money on these premium downloadable extras. It's also interesting to see the continued popularity of Call of Duty 4. The Variety Map Pack continues to sell incredibly well, over a year since the original game's release.

Brilliant for LBP & SONY

This one must be making Sony a huge sum of money, the game will continue to be milked with GOW, Uncharted etc DLC and what matters is that people will buy the stuff.

The game is said to have cost $8 million to make (remember the article from Gaf) and Sony will have easily made there money back on that, this one must be making quite the $$$.

@RPG

LBP will be Ps3's 2nd most profitable game.......after GT5

GT5 is going to make so much money for Sony, Yamauchi will be grinning while Stringer cleans his boots.

Firstly GT5: Prologue has covered much of the cost of the game so when the full game releases it will basically be pure profit. Then add all the 99p cars they will have for DLC and Sony have themselves a cash cow. At worst if everything goes wrong I see GT5 selling 5 million LTD, AT WORST.

GT was always a cash cow but this one will take it to another level, well deserved too I say. :P

They should have GoW, Uncharted, R&C DLC levels and costumes with extra trophies just like MGS4 ones around the time of release for those games, guarantee to sell well. Crap I was hoping for a Killzone and Resistance DLC levels.

GT5 is a Day 0 for me, if they release a special GT5 edition G25 Wheel with a special edition GT5 Playseat racing chair and special edition of the game for like 500 - 600 bucks, I'll bite.

Has anyone tried out the God of War level kit yet? Is it just stickers or does it include actual levels like the MGS4 one?

Strange that I haven't seen anyone talking about it...

How much do the LBP addons cost?

They are complete rip offs, £10 I think the MGS pack is.

@gebx

MGS4 LBP one is $5.99 I think

@RPG

this time GT5 will get loads of paid DLC too.....so even more money

with such a huge GUARANTEED level of sales....even if a fraction of GT 5 userbase buys DLC that comes for it SONY will make LOADS
