I wonder how EoT would have done on the 360.

Sorry, I had to go there, but it would of been a neat what-if scenario since the 360 userbase is dying for more RPGs.

EoT in its current form? I dont think it would sell anything on the 360 since its direct DS port. Those 14k people really bought it just for trailer.

FFCC:EoT Wii is a tragic, yet expected bomb. Those predicting more than 50k first week sales now nothing about the Wii in Japan.

It has become quite a trend now, majority of the games bomb on the Wii and I find this disturbing, seeing as theres nothing Nintendo can do to avoid this. Im calling it now, next week Trace Memory R will bomb.

YoY comparison for Winning Eleven games (first day):

                 2008       2009

PS2 27% (156k vs 42k)

PS3 88% (107k vs 94k)

PSP 128% (36k vs 46k)

PS2 number dropped horribly, PS3 version sold less that the last year, and only the PSP figures improved.

Well games that are expected to do poorly like Tenchu, EoT do badly. But other titles like Taiko, Fatal Frame IV etc. etc. have proved that Wii can sell smaller games in Japan, shame that Fragile did medicore but there is still some hope for it. At the end of the day Wii does much better then 360 and PS3 in Japan both HW and Software wise, and with Wii Sports Resort, few more Classic JRPG's and MH3 this year , Wii will continue to dominate.

ROFFLE at the panic. The Crystal Chronicles franchise is Nintendo exclusive, so people can stop wishing (or dreading).

That said Echoes of Time did a little under what I expect. Essentially it's a Ring of Fates expansion in that it's pretty much building off of that game and (finally) adding online. The only reason the Wii version exists is for the pollux engine experiment so the trolls can stop pretending like a DS game was supposed to be some massive seller on the Wii.

I thought the bundles would do more only to find out there were only 10k. WTG Square.

both versions of EoT bombed, especially the ds version considering it's large user base.

i still dont understand why a wii version of EoT was made. money, i guess?

I got EoT for the DS. It's an amazing game but with some glaring flaws like only one save slot and the game being too much like Ring of Fates.

Still deserved more.

No, it isn't. It deserved to bomb. It was obviously ported to the wii for the hell of it.

Does anyone expect Trace Memory R become a blockbuster? I know I don't because of the genre and the sales on DS.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
