@grouchu: I assumed it after the E3 trailer. I figured it would be just like Uncharted, which was announced at E306 with a CGI trailer, then released at the end of 2007.

2009 was suppossedly confirmed by developers at the VGAs back in mid-December.

Shuhei Yoshida (Sony WWS CEO) also confirmed God of War III along with Killzone 2 and M.A.G. for 2009 this month.

Gamestop is not a reliable source for release dates. It's always possible that the game could get delayed, but I'm gonna need a little more proof (or really any for that matter) that a projected Gamestop release date holds more worth than that of the developers as well as a Sony CEO's.

this sux i m pretty sure this is true that it will b out next year i don't give a crap about GOW3 but man ps3 sales would of been high this year if it came out along side uncharted 2

I would actually rather that it released in march '10 than was released for the holidays this year. Of course, this would also mean that Sony should get GT5 out for the holidays, which they better, because they need it.

It looks like Japan may get GT5 this year, but the rest of the world is possibly waiting until 2010.

It looks like Japan may get GT5 this year, but the rest of the world is possibly waiting until 2010.

 

I never understood why Sony didn't make worldwide releases for the GT games. Sure, the team behind it is japanese, but it's a racing game, it can't take that long to localize..?
