i want super mario bros 3... 2. ... I want the same old school 8 bit look with updated music.. and... i want true co op.. i wanna be able to have luigi and mario on the screen playing at the same time wtf. Why don't nintendo ever make this ? it would be THE super mario. In my opinion super mario 3 is still where it's at.

  • Ditch the 'New' in the title - That's has to be about the laziest title they could think of.
  • Make the hub world less linear.
  • Bring back all the Super Mario Bros. 3 power-ups - I don't know why they ditched them in the first place.
  • Bring back arcade style gameplay - Ever since Super Mario World it seems the series lost it's arcadeyness. The old ones were designed so you can play from start to finish in one sitting without getting bored in the process.
  • Bring back the Koopalings - What's with Bowser Jr. being Koopas only child all of a sudden? He's basically just Baby Bowser renamed.
  • Make a Wii version - Why can't the Wii get a nice Mario side-scroller aswell? (don't put puzzles or shoehorned motion controls in it either)

 

 

Putting "new" in the title was marketing GENIUS. No matter how many years it has been out, people are going to buy it because it's "new."

Two more: Subspace Emissary.

Co-op sidescrolling on one screen = teh sucks.

I'll say it again - making it New Super Mario World or New Super Mario Land is most likely. It'll probably be Land, then World for the iteration after that.

And it'll probably play something like Bros. 3 or World with a new-gen feel.

If done right it could be great. Besides the flying suit was a killer. Super mario bros 3 had a lot of different and original upgrades. Not to mention great level design. Probably the best of any mario game

Three words: Donkey Kong Country

Also, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (Game Boy Color) had co-op. Of course I'd like them to do split screen like in Sonic 2, so you could go in your own direction.
