This is rather freaky. I was born in Endeavour Hills and I can'r EVER remember a fire coming so close that they have announced a 'fire warning'. The 5 hechtare fire is like less then 1km from my house...  in fact it's more like 500 meters.

The fire bregade are all infront of my house constantly refilling their water before racing back out to the fire.  There are 30 trucks, 2 Aircraft and 115 personell all asigned to this fire. 

ATM, i've been bringing out ice drinks/poles to the firemen to try and keep them hydrated.  It's currently 43 degrees Celcius, so it's fricken hot!!!

Anyway, I better run back out to give them more drinks,  It's all very freakish.

Well in the end it got REAL big.

Burnt through 45 Hectares, had over 80 fire trucks, 3 bulldozers, 4 aircraft and 360 firemen trying to contain the fire.

There was the fire warnings telling people that 'now is the time to choose to either stay or go'.

The fire also headed towards main power lines which if burnt, would have lost 2/3 power to all of melbourne!!!

In the end though, after like an entire day in 45 degrees heat (it reached that high!!!), they got it contained by about 7.30 pm (started at 11am or so)

Only just a few hours ago did they open up our road! We went out earlier and when we got back, the blockade on our road was still there and they wern't letting us back in... until we convinced them we lived in that area.

We took a drive around the burnout area too... soo freaky at how close it was to us. At least nobody got hurt.
