They should start this Saturday already, and then again on the 21st, UFC is pretty fucking big in the UK.

Erm... *coughs*, *slightly uneasy*.... what's UFC?

Ultimate Fighting Championship = UFC.

The title should tell you what its about.

I told people not to worry about Sony not advertising KZ 2. There's no way on earth they wouldn't let people know about it.

I know, it's going be one of Playstation's best shooters. They are going to advertise the crap out of it.

Yep, they will. I  live in the UK and they advertised Uncharted and LBP a lot. KZ 2 is arguably much bigger/more important than both of those games.

Anyone got any stats and figures for any other game's advertising budgets?

Final Fantasy 7 was the lead game in a 100 million pound advertising campaign in the UK.

I see.... so what's so great about £2 million, then?

I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention UFC ever in my life, and I come from a pretty sporting family.

2 million is actually very high I think.

It's just FF7 was probably by far the biggest advertised game out there.

Hence why it's so damn popular despite being a step backwords from the SNES versions.

A handfull of PS1 games just got MASSIVE advertising because Sony wanted to make their console last.  It's also probably why FF7 was a PS1 exclusive.

From what Sven of Capcom said about advertising the other day, it sounds like Sony is expecting around £20 million in gross sales of Killzone 2 in the UK.

Err I need a link for that, financially £100 advertsing would require millions of sales in that one region to make money, you must mean WW.

Yeah, Sony has been advertising alot with the UFC lately. It's a smart choice given the demographic. BTW: Who do you got?

But why the UK? It's market was tiny back then (around 10 million consoles sold total during the PS1 generation). I either think that £100m for FFVII+more is incorrect, or £2m for Killzone 2 (when the market is much larger, and the money buys you way less) is too little.
