its true, u could actually see SPUS use in the reporting video.

normal use its only 2 spus+ppu, at a firefight (tons of explosions) and online. they may use 6 spus.

they use the spu to help process , lighting particles, 7.1 audio, and using them makes game 20%-40% faster.

if you want 1080p 60fps try gran turismo 5 prologue and GT5 when launched :).

MdJ : To be honest I don’t know who said Killzone 2 only uses 60% of the SPUs as that’s simply not true. It all depends on what is happening at a certain moment in the game. In some (rare) cases when there isn’t much action going on the game doesn’t require all the SPUs to run at full speed, but there are plenty of combat heavy situations where we max out on all SPUs and run at 100%.

360 already takes the graphics crown with gears 2, and although killzone 2 may take the crown for a few months it will only be keeping Alan wakes seat warm.

When Alan wake is released sony wont have anything that can match it graphically.



These threads are so pointless. Fun, buy pointless.

It is pretty obvious that I am in full support of Sony so we all know were my awnser lies. Just based on the fact that Sony pumped out Gran Turismo 4 in 1080i, and God of War 2 had textures that put many games on 360 and PS3 to shame makes me belive that they will be able to push PS3 well past the 360. I mean, if they could put out games on a weaker system last gen that were on par with or above the level of games on much more capable systems, and do it all with a wild west style of in house development. Then it only makes since that this gen, with a console that is at the least on par with the competition, and a in house development structure which allows every team to build off of eachothers work, that they would be able to create games far above the compotition.

Now to add to that, last gen Sony did not help 3rd party devs out at all. It was all about renderware, or in house built engines. This time around Sony not only has all their in house devs working together to create amazing tools for personal use, but they also have a team dedicated to getting those tools out to the 3rd parties with the Playstation Edge tools.

Of course as I stated to begin with, no matter how much logic or history you use to try and proove something, it can always be spun, so really I am just posting this for the fun of it. Based on what I know from what I said above, and the fact that many developers have stated they are moving lead development to PS3, I think the case for better looking PS3 games is fairly strong. With that said the differance will never be major, but we may see things like, more and lossless audio on PS3. We may see more high res textures, extra graphical effects that are more storage limited than RAM limited, and a slew of other things, but in the end it will not be something that the average Joe will notice. In fact the only way we will know is if, we get it from a gaming site, or personally own two HDTV's, and have a PS3 hooked up to one, and a 360 hooked up to another, and view them side by side.

Heavy rain and uncharted 2 say hello.

but even so we don't have 360 alan wake pic yet, and yet i think killzone 2 looks slightly better.
