Forums - Sony - Out of curiousity - How often do you go Home?

Would you like a tissue for those tears?

Sounds like you've explained a bit of a catch 22 situation for me. Home remains a beta while they build the rest of the content, but you think much of the content is waiting for them to finish it, which it can't do while the content isn't there.

Home is going to remain in open beta for much of it's life if you go buy the Sony Exec's words. Just like GMail has been in open beta for YEARS!!!

Why do you keep comparing it to GMail? Google can leave the "beta" tag on it's email service for ever, I couldn't care less. But generally I don't fully judge a game until it's officially launched, for games I see the beta as a time that the devs can test the basics, and with Home most of the interesting content will be made by other people such as EA and their space which will feature poker and  go carts etc.

So what's wrong with Home for you? Is it lacking in content (which I believe it being in Beta is a big contributor) or does it have bugs glitches and errors, are the mechanics of Home restricting you from enjoying it fully?

Around the Network

I compare it to GMail because that's the comparison Sony has made to explain the "beta" status... and Home is NOT a game!

To be fair I think all these Second Life, Home, even WOW are pathetic and I think people should try making real friends instead.

Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

It's still in Beta people! Wait til it comes out proper and I'm sure lots of different gaming companies will all be competing to have the coolest space.

Also for those people who can't find the red bull space, press start and it's under my locations or something similar. Go stand near the three planes and Red Bull Race should pop up on your screen. They should fix it cause at the mo if someone is standing infront of your their name comes up instead : /

GMail is still in beta too, yet it is still perfectly functional. Sony have said that they like the Google model with GMail because it means it is an evolving product. This means that Home is what it is, it may improve, but it is released to the general public so the "it's only a beta" excuse means jack shit.

Well Vista was a beta also , and that thing wasn't functional when released.

google sticks with the Beta things for too long, and even so, they are not done with gmail yet, they added skins recently, imap support etc etc.

gmail a while ago.

gmail before the skins patch.

with skins now.

You can't judge those games for what they are and call them pathetic, they're some good games with stuff that's never been done before. The people that play those games that have no friends on the other hand, I would consider pathetic. I played WoW for 2 years, but that's cause my RL friends played it too, it got really damn boring so I quit and tried out Warhammer online which is an awesome game. But none of my RL friends had comps good enough to run it so I quit.

I think you have misinterpreted sony's comparison, the thing it has in common with GMail as a beta is that they can work on it while Everybody uses it. And Home (just like GMail) is working exactly how it should.

And to be "fair"? you call those immensly popular games pathetic and accuse those gamers of having no friends? lol

dear lord the trolls...

fishy i doubt home is draing resources to the extent you make it seem. and im sure money they make from home will more than cover the cost.

kylie the games you list are rated m arent they? home is 16 and up but thats just a guideline there really isnt a way to regulate it.

you want to say something about home than do so.but at least contribute to the conversation. (greenbox im looking at you)
