Forums - Sony - Out of curiousity - How often do you go Home?

Wow....

I was expecting some apathy towards it but not to this magnatude. It's nice to see at least some people are utilizing the social aspect of it but the vast majority here seem very disenchanted.

Since Home is free for users but definately not free for Sony to host,

Do you think it'll last as it, that it'll be reinvented into something great or will Sony ulitmately end up closing Home?

I was there two or three times since it released. Will go back if they add cool, free content.

Don't Worry.....Be Happy

@Gamerace despite the general dislike for Home there's still a dedicated following which is enough for Sony to generate profits from the application , it will probably have covered it's development cost's by the end of the summer based of it's $1 million opening 2-3 weeks I think and estimated development cost's of $3-$10million for the project.

Free games/applications generate the majority of their revenue from around 20% of the users so as long as there is a dedicated following of some sort Home should be considered a succes, doesn't mean anyone including myself will like it though.

Sony's published sales in Home so far have been quite good.  The promised third party support and the new gamespaces will bring some of the disenchanted back into Home.  I think it is too early to determine if it is a success or failure.  I suspect quite a lot of people use it regularly.  Even though I don't use it, I think it is a good addition to the Sony platform.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I haven't even downloaded it.

I dunno. Doesn't seem worht the HD space.

Never I think its lame as hell currently but i'mhoping stuff starts picking up on it and they release some stuff actually worth doing. Right now it just seems kinda pointless.

Yea, I logged in once. Ran around, and never went back. My wife liked making the avatars the first day. They look cool, but you can't make them look like yourself without making them look stupid.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I went in once during the beta, laughed, and left.

So is Home a fad, or did it die too quickly to be considered a fad?

This assuming the answers so far are representative...
