I still think RE5 will be the worst selling RE in Japan.

RE5 will not sell anywhere near 5 million on both platforms combined.

Maybe 2-3 million if the reviews are good and Japan supports it as well.

They aren't going to hit it, they may not even come close, and they wouldn't have to put up numbers that big if they made the game playable on the Wii. HD development will be the death of gaming, I can see it now. Even the biggest companies, like EA, are struggling with the costs of these new machines, and a number of small devs have already died trying to produce just one HD game.

Easily?  No.  Even with all ports included, the best selling RE games just barely creep past 6 million and every one of them had a later port that gave notable reason for more sales.  RE 1 and 2 were rereleased w/ Dual Shock controls, spurring millions of more units sold and repeat purchases from fans that wanted the remixed mode to go with rumble.  RE4, on the other hand, ended up with a Wiimote version to tack on an extra million.  Without the new controller rereleases all of those games would have had trouble making 5 million, and in fact may not have.  RE3, which got away from those tactics, didn't even make 4 million.  So unless they have some later edition up their sleeves with significant changes, 6 million will be a very hard fought battle.

So true//reason being RE5 is stepping more away from the Japanese play-style to a more American play-style.

GTA 4 did these numbers on one console, RE does not have as much mainstream popularity but enough for 6 million on both platforms combined............EASILY.
