Forums - Gaming - Multi-Disc versus Single Disc

Am I one of the only people who though the multi-disc games back on the PS1 were cooler than the games that were only on one disc? I dunno. The cases were cooler looking IMO. I also felt a sense of accomplishment when I say "Yeah, I have 1 disc left out of 4."

Would you rather games come out on one disc or multiple discs?

ya, back in the day i used to think it was cool to have more than one disc, like in the PS era. even in the gamecube era, when i saw a game had 2 discs, i was like "whoa!"

but now, really, i feel like games should just have one disc. maybe a second for bonus content, but thats it

Back in the day i usee to like games with multi-disks because i knew it was going to be long. now i prefer games on one disk.

preferably bluray

The only problem i had with the multiple disc PS1 games were the cases because it wouldnt fit into alot of the CD racks that were made to fit single disc case in.

I used to love multi-disc games but honestly during the PS2 era I found myself despising multidisc games because I always asked myself is the tech so dated that were actually moving BACKWARDS instead of FORWARD?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

well its always nice seeing two discs because it is assumed "wow must be long game, sweet" but if that exact game can fit on one disc then i guess i would prefer one disc.

but either way it doesn't matter. I mean it takes like 10 seconds at most to swap discs and for a game that needs more than 1. The game is so long anyway that what is 10 seconds for a 40+ hour game.

I'm sure you can get up once ever 20 hours to switch discs.

I'd prefer one disc, but I don't care if it has to come on multiple discs.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Just curious, what changed?

Personally, I don't care.  The only thing that bothers me is when they come in a larger case.

I don´t care either. I changed disk on PC, changed disk on PS1, changed disk on PS2 and now, I change disk on Xbox 360. Still the same for me.

oh orry i should have been more specific. back in the ps1 era i was young. so when i seen like lots of disk for a game i thought i was getting more game for my money. When ps2 come around dvd disks were bigger and i was older. swapping disks became a big inconvenience for me because i like to get comfy in bed and play my game.
