All people keep telling me is to avoid zavvi like the plague because most of their stuff is still at rip off prices e.g. My friend went in because he heard that they had 25% discount on games, only to find that zavvi has set the normal price of alot of new games to £50.

The highstreet is dying in the UK, online is where it is at these days. In any event at the very least its difficult to judge a product by the selling abilities of a failed business.

The PS3 is an ugly system compared to the other two, I have them all sitting under/around my TV and it's only the PS3 that "seems" out of place to me,

It's hugggge, black (with a cheap tacky glossy finish), ugly and looks like a george foreman fat reducing grilling machine, I bet people wonder why I have a grill under my TV when they visit my home lol.

The Wii and 360 rule in the UK and have done for a while now (sales and install base reflect this), All the game stores (and non game stores like tescos, walmart, hmv etc) I go into have the PS3 sections at the back of the stores while the other two are right at the front ready to attract potential customers, this certainly isn't helping the PS3!

That would be a very bad move from Sony and would result in big losses made from sales of PS3 console sales alone. Sony recorded 1.7 billion dollar loss recently. They can ill afford to lose 2 or 3 billion dollars by cutting the price of PS3 just to sell some extra consoles.

Price cuts are a great way to maintain your current sales level (or see a modest increase in sales) when you are starting to see sales decline, but they have never had the effect people expect in providing a massive long term sales boost ...

One way to look at it is I have never seen a store that advertised "Up to 25% off!" that had rioting because of how many people were desperate about saving that much money.

I think bitching about something so personal as aesthetics (heaven for one, hell for another) is a complete waste of time. On topic, who the hell shops in Zavvi anyway!. Oh yeah, thats why they are going under.

I don't beleave that the reason the PS3 is not selling is because its ugle. It maybe ugle but that surely is not why sales are so flat.

I think the main reason si because of MS. they have do a great job at making the PS3 look like a overprices, Ugly waste of money with few or no games. This may not be true but this is how people see the PS3.

Sony must really be kicking them selves to go from 140m consoles to last place in one generation, not many companies to do that apart from SAGA ( Oh no thats done it)
