First time thought the game. I'm about 2 hours in and trying to get the grapple Beam. Yeah, bad ending here.

Just finished it for the first time - ever. I'm not sure why I never really played it before.

Anyway, I was a shade over 6 hrs, with abut 70% completion. I was missing a beam, apparently, too. I got Charge, Ice, Wave, and Plasma.

anyone who hasn't played the game....do yourself a favor and get it asap

I am WEEzY. You can suck my Nintendo loving BALLS!

A lot of people miss the Spazer, actually.  It's one of those items that's rather easy to find but also easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.

I think the very first time I beat Super Metroid, my time was 6 1/2 hours with a dismal 49% of items.  I chalk that up to being young and not understanding the Metroid universe.  :)

I just finished in 2:13 78% items.

I wasn't speed running. Thats casual play for me. I skipped most of Maridia, because I hate it.

My buddy had a 35 minute run he'd submitted to speeddemosarchive right before they accepted hotarubi's 32 minute run. As far as he was aware, he was the fastest metroid player in the world.

He was kinda dissappointed that he never officially held the title. Griggski on the Speeddemoarchive forum.

Witty signature here...

Wii: 14 million by January  I sold myself short

360: 13 million by January I sold microsoft short, but not as bad as Nintendo.

PS3: 6 million by January. If it approaches 8 mil i'll eat crow  Mnn Crow is yummy.

With these results, I've determined that I suck at long term predictions, and will not long term predict anything ever again. Thus spaketh Crono.

I remember that one from Metroid II. It kinda disappeared after this game, I guess- it would make a cool "shotgun" type weapon in Prime, like the Light Beam's special attack.

Just beat Ridley. Dumb question. How do I get out of his lair?

didn't you get that unlimited jumping ability.

edit: I just beat the game in 6 hours for the first time.  That's pretty bad compared to you guys.  I forgot what items percentage I had though.

Spazer sorta returned in Fusion after being altered into the "Wide Beam."
