Numbers for same week last year

PS3 32k which means its down 15k almost 46% yoy
Wii sold 77k which means Wii fell 51k 66% yoy
360 sold 4k which means increase of 3k up 75%
PSP sold 70K which means down 29k down 41%
DS sold 78k which means down 19k down 24%

Have to sale PS3,PSP and Wii numbers are horendous year over year all posting over 40% drops. The story of Japan wether people want to admit it or not is that the 360 is now doing much better while the others are doing much worse.

No - you can't compare apples and oranges. Here are the Famitsu numbers for this week last year (and this week's numbers for comparison)

Wii is the only platform that had a horrendous drop. It sold less than PS3 did last year, and even that was far from spectacular. You really can't put DS and PSP in the same bracket. Wii sold 3 (!) times less than it did last year.

I'd say a near 50% drop for the PS3 is pretty bad mate.

Fragile's been managing okay. I hope it can keep the sales up!

Please, compare on larger scale. It makes more sense than very limited period of time. 3 first weeks of 2008 and 2009 year in comparison will give a better picture:

Wii is very low in Japan, but Nintendo do not care about it because despite being a bad week, Wii > PS3 + Xbox360, that is the fact, Wii is still the king absolute this week.

I think Nintendo will use all their resources when it will be necesary, but now no. You now, they are not doing very well, but the competition is doing even worse.
