vgcharts overtracking a game again, the usual
its so sad how banjo flopped. One of the best games of last year, hope microsoft bundles the game.
Poor Banjo. It used to be big back in Nintendo times, even in Japan. And now it fell pretty miserably, especially in Japan.
My god those numbers look horrible for Banjo.. and if it was on the Wii, everyone would be clamoring about how good games don't sell, but of course on the 360 it goes under the radar. :P
I bought the game, hated it at first, then got the hang of it and started liking it. I really loved the retro themed level, but then I just got bored and stopped playing it. I should really go back and finish the game, or at least unlock all the levels... Making my own vehicles is extremely tedious to me, especially because I feel like I don't have enough parts, even though I've looked all around town to get all the boxes I can find. It's too bad, considering that most of this game revolves around making and trying out your own vehicles... lol

Wow I thought fable 2 would be a bit more. Looks like banjo is epic fail.
Banjo is currently at 650k and is guaranteed to hit a million, it's doing fine.

It's at 650k according to this site, but well below it according to the NPD data. Fable II looks like it's done well no matter what you go by, but Banjo more or less looks to have pretty poor sales overall
Also, please overtrack Street Fighter IV.

It is an example of a big game failing, just not on Wii as we all expect. LBP and BK, while arguably not failures, are definetily under performing and if Mario whatever produced either of those numbers plenty of people would be talking.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Those are only NPD December numbers for Banjo.
