I don't know if I would consider John F. Kennedy's assassination to be a best first.

and it comes with toasts!. awesome :)

Imagine touch screen pieces of paper that we used like regular A4....wow.

LOL A HANDHELD TV

I wonder how placing LEDs like this is affecting backlight bleed and how equal is brigtness level on the screen (it might have big X shaped area of brighter spots).

Anyway I'm not buying new tv till oleds are affordable.

3000 pounds for an OLED.. when you can get a competing LCD for under 500! What a deal.. no wonder SONY is in the gutters...focus on the value crowd sony.. sheesh

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

Uhh.. if the LEDs are placed around the side the illumination of the screen might be very uneven, especially in the place that matters the most, the middle of the screen.

In my opinion TVs don't need to be slimmer than ~10cm.

Lol, if this was an OLED TV, 3000 pounds would be a real steal.

Does it have an HDMI port? I'll only buy it if I can set my PS3 on top of it.

I sure it has one.

Problem is, at that thickness where would it plug in?

*scratches chin thoughtfully* Maybe thats where the wireless HD signal comes in...

EDIT: ok I see now...

The BRAVIA ZX1 offers the ultimate in visual appeal with a 40-inch screen measuring a barely believable 9.9mm at its slimmest section. The compelling elegance of this wafer-thin display is hugely enhanced by a second master-stroke: there are no signal cables to spoil the perfectly poised design.

Instead, ‘BRAVIA 1080 Wireless’, a super-fast wireless connection, carries the audiovisual signal from the separate Media Receiver to the screen in real time. The visual simplicity is beguiling and creates an overwhelming impression of effortless sophistication.

...

This is all possible because of the separation of the screen itself from the Media Receiver. TV signal cables and inputs from from other devices such as Blu-ray Disc™ players or PLAYSTATION®3 connect only to the Media Receiver, which can be kept out of sight. The video signal is sent to the screen via ‘BRAVIA 1080 Wireless’, a ground-breaking high definition, high-speed wireless connection capable of real time transmission of HD signals. For maximum convenience, the Media Receiver has an integral MPEG4 AVC-HD2 tuner as well as DVB-T and DVB-C3 digital broadcast and cable tuners. This means viewers can access free-to-air HDTV as well as standard digital broadcasts where these services are present.

That's what she said.

I can imagine watching  a movie on that TV, opening my window to get some fresh air, and watching the TV blow out the window, down the street, hitting an old man in the balls.  Bad PR, Sony.  Bad PR.
