Forums - PC - Crysis Warhead: DRM revoke tool now available

Via 1up

"If you've been wondering how you're going to get Crysis Warhead on to that sixth computer, you can now breathe a sigh of relief. Your answer has arrived.

Over on MyCrisis, they have a revoke tool that will deactivate the DRM for all you legitimate customers. Just follow the link, download and follow the instructions. CryTek also warns you turn off User Accounts Control if you're using the tool, though honestly you have no real reason to have it on in the first place (unless you like lots of spurious warnings).

So get downloading, and install Crysis Warhead on every computer in your office if you'd like. There's no stopping you now."

Honestly, was it even worth it to implement it in the first place? Don't get me wrong, I think the implementation of DRM like this is insane, but all the crap surrounding it could have been avoided if EA just didn't implement it from the start. Now, here we are after the fact with a tool that will get around an aspect of what EA was trying to justify shoving down our throats only months ago.

Around the Network

If I had Crysis I'd definitely download that. Personally, I think everyone should follow Valve's example--allow you to install the game however many times you want, and just make you log in to play it.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

They recommend you turn UAC OFF? Are they crazy? Microsoft thinks it should ALWAYS be on. Every other OS on the planet, to a greater or lesser extent, has some form of UAC.

ya, even some Linux distros have a for of UAC... why the hell would they recommend turning something like that off.

This is all really useful, but when the HELL are Crytek going to release the 64bit binaries for this game? They promised them within a month of launch...
