I view cheating on someone almost, or as bad as murder, if someone had a great deal of love for the other one in the relationship.

LOL. True story from back in the day.

I had a friend with benefits and she went to a club and got nailed. She called me crying the next day, told me she had slept with this dude and was sobbing. I was like 'Did he have a disease?' She was like 'No ...' and I asked if he got her preggie. She was like 'No ...' and I was like 'It's ok ... we're just friends anyhow.'

I had gotten a lot closer than I needed to be.

Yes, cheating is a mistake and wrong - but the real reason that needs to be asked is - why did the person cheat to start off with? For guys, they are visual animals - we are stimulated by what we see. For women, it's mostly an emotional deficiency somewhere. Sometimes, it's visual for them but mainly emotional.

I used to say just that - not that it's murder, but after a while, I realized cheating is a mistake and none of us are perfect. If you have a good relationship and that person cheats, it boils down to something missing from the relationship that was being fulfilled by someone else.

It's really a lack of communication and execution. Say you don't like your girl's hairstyle. You tell her it's not cute on her. She ignores you and keep wearing it. Eventually, you'll be numb and won't say anything about it. You don't like it - you just want to avoid conflict. After a while, other issues crop up and you ignore them. Finally, you look up one day and realize 'Why am I with a person who basically ignores me?' and starts cheating.

Another thing? The workplace. Think about this - most affairs/cheating goes on with co-workers. Why? Proximity. You are close to one another - you see this person nearly 5 days a week vs. your spouse who you may see for a few hours daily, if that.

There are several reasons why cheating happens. I used to bash cheaters - but now, I have mercy on them. It can happen to anyone.

I hear ya. My rule is she has to tell me beforehand, so I know where she's disappeared to, and tell me after, to recap how it was, maybe watch video footage back together.

^^ In fairness, I used to be like that till I was in my 20s, and usually kept those thoughts internal, at least till my late 20s... Then I started talking with the girls about it, and I find more and more of them loved the idea of open relationships. Girls are just as bad as guys from a sexual standpoint, they just hide it better
