Forums - Microsoft - Does the 360 have any real exclusives?

360

Halo 3
Gears of War 2
Forza Motorsport 2

Fable II

Project Gotham Racing 4

Ninja Gaiden II

Naruto: The Broken Bond

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

Tales of Vesperia

Dead or Alive 4
Dead Rising
Crackdown
Saints Row
Perfect Dark Zero
Moto GP 06
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Project Gotham Racing 3

PS3

Little Big Planet
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Valkyria Chronicles
Resistance 2
Warhawk
SingStar
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
Buzz! Quiz TV

Motorstorm

Resistance: Fall of Man

Total
360=9
PS3=12

This is a better list. Only 80+ games. I took out all the games that launched in 2005 and 2006 before the ps3 actually lauched. And to be a little bit fair I took out Motorstorm and Resistance as well.

Really?  Old 360 games are hard to find?  Notice that I have recently played King Kong(Yes I know, it was multiplat, but it still fits here).  Your argument does not stand.

Based on the fact that you played an old multiplatform game ?

So an exclusive 360 game would be harder to find than a bad multi platform game? LOL.  You guys are struggling.

Dead Or Alive 4
Kameo: Elements of Power
Perfect Dark Zero
Project Gotham Racing 3
Saints Row

I just checked various online stores from the USA, UK and Germany. You can still buy the game in every country and in almost every Online Store !!!

I'm sure some retail stores have still copies of DOA4, Kameo and PDZ. (Can't speak for the USA or UK but I'm VERY sure about that)

Most stores have the older platinum, and popular titles from 2005-2006. I can still (easily) pick up a copy of any said game, plus others such as Dead Rising, which sold almost 250,000 units in North America in 2008 (2 years after it's release).

Also, if we're not including games that came out before the PS3 launched, does that mean we need to cut out PS2 games as 'exclusives' that launched before the Xbox/GC did in 2001? If we're going to be fair, we need to remove games like Final Fantasy X, SSX, Madden 01, DOA2, Metal Gear Solid 2, GTAIII, Gran Turismo 3, Devil May Cry, ICO, and Silent Hill 2 (just to name a few more popular titles).

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Hmm, although the 360 has more exclusives, based on metacritic, the 360 has far more game under 70% than the PS3.

The breakdown shows that:

29 games under 70% are on the 360
8 games under 70% are on the PS3

The 360, however, still has more console exclusives (33) above 70% than the PS3 (22).

So this data shows that:

If you want the console with more Higher ranked games (based on metacritic) get a 360, if you want more exclusives that suck (based on metacritic) get a 360. It's a win/win situation!

The math is wrong as well. The 360 should have 62 exclusives compared to the PS3 and it's 30 exclusives. I think he forgot the add the 90+ metacritic for the 360.

360 has more total exclusives then PS3. FACT.
If you include 360/PC game the 360 library slaughters the PS3 one. FACT.

Yes the year head start is a factor but who cares. We are where we are today. No excuses.

Case closed.

The above statement is 100% true.

If you chose to buy a console on how many exclusives it has and ignore what year the console came out in, you would buy a PS2.

The year head start the 360 had over the PS3 is a huge factor and should not be ignored.

I can't tell if thats sarcasm or not..

Lets assume that the number of exclusives a console gets is linear throughout its lifetime. I know its not quite true, but I can't be bothered to do any complex maths.

By the end of 2009 the PS3 will have more exclusives over 80% than the 360, based on the assumption.

Why are we still arguing this issue, it as clear as water, although MS had a year ahead of the PS3, somehow its still debatable which has more exclusives. I agree with Onyx, the 360 has more.

What is funny about my sig predictions? You know thats for the end of 08 right? not 09. And that they were made almost a year before the end of 2008.

My Wii, PSP and DS prediction were all within a 10% error margin and a hell of a lot closer then most people on this site. My PS3 one is to high because I thought they would have a price cut and my 360 was to low because I didn't think they would cut the price so much.

We can also assume we live in 'La-La' land where games magically disappear when a competiting consoles arrives on the market.

sorry.. couldn't resist

On a more serious note - You can assume what ever you want, but we don't know how many exclusives will be coming out within the next year. We don't even know if Sony will still have all those first party studios open, or if they'll even have a console..

Good lists and useful reference.

Anyone trying to exclude pre-PS3 games are stupid.

However I think it's a given that the Gears, Fable and Halo franchises will appear on the PC again which does help the "no need for 360" argument especially when it's 360's biggest games that aren't exclusive.
