Based on what information? And yeah I'm no fan of the original, but what are you basing that claim on? Actual opinion thus far, or your fanboy dreams?

I'm willing to bet money that you don't have a ps3...just a hunch!

Here's to hoping he's being sarcastic though..
I can understand people getting excited about a game, and making claims that it will be a good game and sell well but there is a point where excitement becomes unrealistic hype; and unrealistic hype only leads to mocking of the game down the road ...
I won't claim Killzone 2 is sub-par without playing it but some of you have to stop acting like Killzone 2 is the second coming of christ without playing it.
| CGI-Quality said: @ vic You're comparing Killzone 1 (PS2), to a game in an entire different generation, on far more capable hardware, has a MUCH bigger budget, and now has a team that is more experienced and has released a better product (Killzone: Liberation - PSP) since the original was just average/"mediocre". Also, beta testers/early reviewers have all debunked your claim that it mirrors the original. Even though the OP was a bit jumbled, his message was clear, don't judge something you've yet to play. I cannot, myself, say if it's stellar or not since I have not played it. However, the word of mouth so far is filled with positives and that is helping my already hyped nature. Best to play the game first before you claim what it's going to or not going to be like! |
Wasn't Haze a game in an entire different generation, released on far more capable hardware, with a bigger budget and a more experienced development team than produced TimeSplitters?
Wasn't Lair a game in an entire different generation, released on far more capable hardware, with a bigger budget and a more experienced development team than produced Starwars Rogue Squadren 2?
I'm not saying Killzone 2 is in any way a similar result to those games, but the factors you listed for ensuring that Killzone 2 would be a better game have certainly not helped many games so far this generation.
I have been told that one must believe in killzone 2 and believers should try to convert people to believe in it. I have been also told that because I am non-believer I must be hater. Well, I can't post the thread or quote that person(If I have understanded correctly its forbidden). Anyway I don't know what Killzone 2 is in the end. Is it a good or bad game, but I can surely understand why people(other than believers) don't like it. I would love to try it tho, because of technical reasons mainly. :)
I claim that Killzone 2 will be sub-par... in sales
Killzone 2 will sell less then Call of Duty:WaW

Are the developers of either Haze or Lair owned by Sony? Did either of those games have the budget or development time of Killzone 2? We can sit and compare apples to oranges till we're blue in the face, the fact is Killzone 2 =/= Killzone 1 by any means. You should've read closer to the point and you would've understood it. And did Haze and Lair have that great word of mouth before they were released as Killzone 2 does? The answer is simple: no. Killzone 2 has beta testers and early reviewers saying the same thing, the game is a masterpiece, hardly the same situation as Haze or Lair. I find it comical that people even compare Lair or Haze to Killzone 2's situation. Shall I say that Alan Wake is gonna suck because, like Too Human, it's taking forever to come out? No, that would be not only unnecessary but wrong as well. Alan Wake =/= Too Human, just Lair/Haze =/= Killzone 2.

Well since World at War is MULTIPLATFORM that isn't necessarily a bad thing. As long as Killzone does at least 2-3mill, which it should do that easily, I don't get your claim of sub par sales. Would YOU say that if it was a 360 exclusive, I highly doubt it. |
Wouldn't the game's selling potential go up if it were exclusive to 360? I'm just assuming that were talking about a Microsoft marketed first person shooter here, so I don't think it would dissappoint at all. Then again, it may not dissappoint on PS3 either, but that's up to the awesome marketing team over at Sony.
