...because it's a much better game? Didn't mgs4 sell well without the holiday sales rush? Frankly, chugging your game with 10 million others to compete for holiday launches makes no sense as your game wouldn't get the recognition it deserves. look at dead space, mirrors edge, PoP, etc

Well if your point was that it was only one game, why were you scrounging for 360 exclusives to put against it, acting as if the PS3 had no other games coming out at the time and that it would be hurt by games on a different platform? JRPGs are not a major genre because for the most part, the sales for the genre are in one or two series and they're quickly losing their worldwide appeal. And the last line was just...blah. Why bother?

Ok smart guy, name me one other NA/Other region exclusive release for PS3 other than KZ2 in Q1 (Jan - April). Don't bother posting because there are none.

 If you read my title thread moron, you can see that I even admit none of these games matched KZ2 in quality, but the whole point is 3 against 1. I am done with 12 year old like you.

So many games (or whatever you want to call them) in big franchises launching near each other will probably drive up the price of advertising, and spread out the viewers' / readers' attention from each title. Killzone being a franchise which is not big (not yet at least) might suffer the most among the names of GTA, RE and Halo.

Now that you mention advertisements, I have yet to see a Halo Wars one.  Is M$ letting this one go by the wayside?  Halo 3 had ads like 3 months before it was released.  The demo itself is somewhat telling of their thoughts on an RTS game selling on name alone.

As for KZ2, I think RE and maybe SF are the only games that could possibly compete with it.  They are both huge franchises.

Socom and Disgaea in Europe, Flower and MLB 09: The Show in America...I can't help but post when I'm such a SMART GUY.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that those were only a couple examples from a quick search. You may not consider MLB 09 an exclusive since it's on other Sony platforms, but it's definitely not on the 360 if that counts.

The GTA 4 DLC wont get any new fans. It is basically for the ones who already have the game.

New owners would have to buy a 360, pay for online, buy the game, and then finally buy the DLC.

DLC is never used to attract new buyers but appeal to the ones who already have it.

Star Ocean 4 will be a big seller in Japan and will move 360s, no doubt. But so will Yakuzua 3 and FF13 Demo for the PS3(maybe Demon's Souls). SF 4 will do better on PS3 in Japan.

KZ 2 will be successful in Europe and NA, no question as both COD games for the PS3 are well over 2 million sold.

Star Ocean 4 would do better on ps3 as japans pick up on the game will be much lower. killzone 2 will do well no matter the comp. for us gamers these next few much as nothing but awesome soo many great games:D

And it'd flop like a salmon in the west. So, no it wouldn't. Tales games, on the other hand, may well do better on PS3 since as we've seen they don't do good in th West no matter what console they're on.

I will be getting Lost and the Damned as well as Star Ocean but I also don't think anything can kill the 3 year+ of build up coming to Killzone 2's release.
