DLC, a console RTS and a JRPG against a shooter on another console. I cannot see them competing, most definitely cannot see a JRPG, RTS and DLC impacting sales for a shooter and vice versa.

:/

thats not the point. The point is that 360 is offering 3 major game franchises in palce of Sonys 1. MS is saying:

"PS3 is offering you a shooter, something we have plenty of. However, were offring a sandbox game, a JRPG, and a RTS. Were offering 3 game experiences in place of PS3s one.......a experience that has been done to death (fps)."

Thats what this thread means. MS is saying they offer more then just another shooter. Add Stoked and Race Pro also in February and the 360 exclusive list dwarfs the PS3 list in Q1 09.

Wait you are making it sound as though these games will be system sellers. They will sell well, none of them are going to caase people to buy consoles (besides a few people here who are JRPG lovers).

TRUST ME

Yakuza 3 releasing a week after SO4 wills sell more systems than killzone 2

why?

as Yakuza is from a strong franchise on PS2....while Killzone isn't + SONY refuse to market anything so thats another reason

Isn't Resident Evil getting released somewhere around there as well?

Yes, RE5 is coming out 3/13/09. That is a multiplatform release. Speaking of which, Sony really has no exclusive 3rd party game anymore. RE, FF, Tekken, and all the Japanese RPG are going to the 360 even some that are exclusive like Star Ocean.

Relying on one exclusive game for a quarter is not good even with a game that is AAA.

RE might eat away sales more than anything else because it is also available on the PS3.

There seems to be a lot of good content coming out from lots of different sources around the beginning of this year. Isn't the next Street Fighter coming out soon as well. Good stuff for gamers when companies fight for our money.

I am sure the OP mean NA, if not then yes Yakuza 3 will tear apart SO4 sales and sell more systems then any of those games. That one is a system seller, those other games are not. Had the Halo game been a shooter or a full GTA game the yes but that is not the case.

I think they'll market this one much more than LBP. How was LBP's marketing btw? Why do you say Sony doesn't market their games, was there any disappointment recently?

(I don't watch much TV so I don't know)

At $200, I can see STar Ocean being a system seller, and not just in Japan. GTA: LAD may be DLC, but its also getting retail shelf space. And it being freakin GTA, one of the highest selling franchises of all time, its bound to sell some Arcade 360s. Halo Wars will sell because its Halo, maybe even snag a few former PC gamers with the $200 price and all.

Thign is, the 360s price makes those 3 games just as likely to be system sellers as KZ2 is for PS3. Why? Cause its harder to justify a purchase when the cheapest price is $400.

Sony spent 10 million dollars in advertising LBP. I wonder if they'll have that same marketing budget for Killzone?

As a game hyped for 4 years, I can see Killzone 2 being a system seller. I can also see Yakuza 3 sales tearing SO4 a new asshole in Japan where it would have done the most damage. Then I can see people wanting RE5, Fear 2 and SF4 more then DLC and finally Halo wars......console RTS.......nuff said.

OMG Halo Wars will convert PC gamers? Boy you are out of your mind :O
