Forums - Microsoft - X360 Triple threat of GTA4 DLC, Star Ocean 4, Halo Wars vs KZ2

The irony is that K2's cost and development duration is probably that of GTA4DLC, HaloW, and SO4 combined.

I wonder how would Left 4 dead have looked like had that amount of money been poured into it.

My question is this: Why are you only comparing X360's lineup to PS3's? I mean, the Wii is what an ambitious Microsoft should be targeting.

Star Ocean 4 would do better on ps3 as japans pick up on the game will be much lower. killzone 2 will do well no matter the comp. for us gamers these next few much as nothing but awesome soo many great games:D

And it'd flop like a salmon in the west. So, no it wouldn't. Tales games, on the other hand, may well do better on PS3 since as we've seen they don't do good in th West no matter what console they're on.

You shouldn't generalize that much. Star Ocean isn't a shooter, a racer, w-rpg or a genre that is popular among the Xbox 360 users, and the PS3 has still to proof that it can sell J-rpg's in the west, and in Europe which is also a big part of the west most of the Xbox 360 J-rpg's have sold even worser than they did in Japan.

I'd say Europe + Japan -> America when it come's to J-rpg's.

Because they're trying to be the dominate HD console. Microsoft to take out this generation so it is doing all it can to steal the thunder from Sony any time it has it. Which isn't very often.

Microsoft is already steadily selling more than the PS3 WW and has brought up the average amount of 360s sold from about 1-3k a week to about 8k a week. With the recent release of Street Fighter IV and Ninja Blade (which didn't sell well but we will see if it picks up) and the upcoming release of Star Ocean 4 and Resident Evil 5 I think the 360 will be alright with the expected boost of PS3 sales.

funny that Microsoft needs that "triple THREAT" (debatable) to go up against K2.... not only a "triple threat" but "THE TRIPLE THREAT" what's coming out for the 360 after this???... oh yeah next to nothing..... they have NOTHING to go up against UNCHARTED 2, INFAMOUS, HEAVY RAIN, TWISTED METAL PS3 (WATCH ITLL COME OUT THIS YEAR)

he who laughs last laughs hardest.... just sit back and watch "us"

What makes you think that JRPGs wil sell better on a console thats doing WORSE then the other console in Europe? At best it'd sell close to the same. You might want to narrow that back down to

Japan -> Europe + America, in which I can say no it does not.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Software wise the PS3 is doing well in Europe and when you look at the charts of most European country's like Spain, Italy, France, The Netherlands and a couple more I still see more PS3 titles than XBox 360, but it doesn't really matter.

I haven't sayd that J-rpg's would sell better on the PS3, but Japanese games are more commonly associated with the PS branch in Europe than they are with the Xbox branch and until now the J-rpg's have pretty much all flopped on this region. After a month you can also find most of those games for about half the price, and I guess that's how they sometimes get past the 100k mark, which is really sad.

Perhaps the XBox 360 is doing now better than PS3 in Europe, but what I'm saying is that the situation here much better for the PS3 and that the situation isnt similar'to America's one, heck, there are just a couple of thousands more XBox 360 sold in Europe, and it can change at anytime, unlike America where the PS3 will likely never catch the XBox 360 or at least not in the next three years.

You should also take in mind that a lot of the PS3 owners and Sony fans are RPG fans, just like many Nintendo fans are platform fans.

I think the DLC may tempt alot of gamers out there to get a gold account. If they could even get 100k new users to sign up for a 1 year gold account that would be an extra 5 million in there pockets.

Killzone 2 and PS3 will do just fine, no matter what xbox360 titles are put out at the same time. It is like comparing apples to oranges to say that any of these titles can take away from the entity which is Killzone 2.
