So who's watching it tonight?

What did you think of the skills competition last night? (Ovechkin FTW)

Other thoughts?

cough *bump* cough

Forgot to watch the skills competition...
(>'.')>

I think I'll probably tune in for a bit, but not the whole game. I usually don't watch the All-Star game, but since it's in Montreal, I'll watch parts of it. I didn't get a chance to catch the skills competition (family function), so I was trying to find a place to download it from........but sadly I couldn't find it :(

The new rule just popped out of the blue. Apparently it was made last year, but swept under the radar. I think it's good, but I think there should be an exempt list. Say 5 all star games attended allows you to bypass that rule, because it isn't very fair for Lidstrom to miss a game, when he's attended 9 all-star games in his career.

I dont liek the new rule, people shoudl feel free to not attend if they want. I understand the league trying to show off theri top talent, but come on, some guys just have better things to do.Or would rather heal up a bit and be healthy for the playoff push.

Being at the all-star celebrations does nothing to alter their healing process. They don't have to take part in the skills competition, or the all-star game. So there's no skating involves. All they have to do is take a flight.........so an extra 2 flights (one there, one back) on top of the 100+ they take in a year.

All they have to is to show up, for what......2 days out of 4? And even then, it's only for a few hours. I don't see it as a big deal for the players to take 2 days off and help promote the game that's making them into millionaires.

I suppose, maybe its just me. I dont liek the concept of the All-Star game, interupting the regular season just as thigns start to get interesting.

I don't like it either. If they want an all-star game I'd prefer to have it at the beginning of the season, after the pre-season, but a couple days before the season begins. Sort of to kick off the new season.

I still think that players need a break midway into the season, so I'd have a 4-5 day break around this time, but no all-star game or anything like that. No hockey period for the players, not even practice (unless they wanted to skate by themselves or something).

I'm not watching the NHL All Star Game this year, no Red Wings players.

Nintendo still doomed?
