Here is my take on LBP:

Pros:

Good Graphics

Good integration of your friends on PSN

Cons:

Obscure menu system

No Custom soundtrack support

Limited gameplay

Makes you go through too many tutorials before you can make a level

Limited number of items in your profile

- Well don't know why you are complaining about the menu system I thought it was very good, it does what its supposed to do very well.

- Why would you even want one, the soundtrack is amazing and goes with the game very well.

- Don't really what the hell this is supposed to mean. It's a platformer and you can do anything as far as platforming goes.

- Thank god, levels can be very complicated to make(especially when you don't know what the icons mean) and they have provided us a with great tutorials.

- I'm not sure what you mean by profile.

Why on earth would you want that with the beautifull music LBP has to offer? Also the menu system is original, I find. The tutorials are almost a NEED when you want to make a normal level... And what do you mean with Limited Gameplay and Limited number of items in your profile? To me LBP was GOTY. But then again, this is all in your opinion

LBP's soundtrack is some of the best I have ever heard.

Also, if you don't like the gameplay, then don't buy a platformer it is not hard. I don't buy stealth games (apart from MGS 4 but I felt I had to buy that) and then moan about how I don't think it is a very good game because you have to be quiet

I have yet to see being able to do "anything" as far as platforming goes. Have you seen a Bonk's Adventure style gameplay level? Can you even change the sackboy's appearance to something other than a colored sackboy with accessories for embellishments?

The profile is your save file, and I keep running into an error where a bubble will keep popping up telling me I have to delete objects in "My items". I am not really sure where this "My items" category is. I can't find it in the poppit anywhere, but there shouldn't be such a small limit anyway.

@ infinity, my sackboy is currently snake, holding a little sackboy. He even has an incredible moustache

Actually, I like "platformers" quite a bit. However, I thought the concept of LBP was that you could be creative and design any type of platformer that you could imagine, or at least that has been done before.

I think LittleBigPlanet's limited gameplay was on purpose. Players were supposed to put more emphasis on their levels than what their Sackboy could do.

@ infinity: it might be handy to supply a definition of "platformer".

Platformer basically means: jumping, grabbing, flicking switches, opening / closing things / not dying because of certain obstacles, collecting things, killing enemies with a weak point. All of which are available in LBP.

What else constitutes a platformer for you exactly?

What can't you make? I never played Bonk
